Notification to update apps but can't - Droid X

doowopper

Lurker
When I go to the Market>My Apps on my Droid X, it shows that two apps have updates. However, when I click on each of the apps to update them, the only two choices I have for each app are to "Open" or "Uninstall" the app. Likewise, several days ago, I received Notifications that updates were available for these two apps but the same situation occurred when I clicked on the update Notification. Each app could only be opened or uninstalled - no choice for updating them.
I tried removing the battery and putting it back in the phone but the problem persisted.
What could be causing this problem of an app showing it needs an update but it is impossible to update the apps? How do I correct the problem?
Thanks.
Richard

How do I correct the problem?

Use the "uninstall" option and when done immediately reinstall.

I've just finished doing this myself for four apps, one of which was Maps of all things. Somehow they appear to have become "disconnected from reality" in the Market and insisted on requiring non-existent updates.
