How do I copy notification tone into sys file?

I have downloaded a notification tone that I wish to use for incoming text, in the notification tones there are a selection of tones but I would like to add this one to the list. I've tried moving the file using the move command and also tried with the copy and paste function with Astro file manager but I cannot move or paste when I navigate to the sys/media/notification folder as these options are greyed out?

you don't need to put them in sys, just a folder called notifications anywhere (i have mine in sd/notifications)

alternatively, you can download an app that will allow you to set any mp3 (or whatever other formats are supported) as a notification/ringtone
tonepicker is one i use to set my mp3s as ringtones

Thanks for the reply, If I create the new folder called notifications and drop the file in there will it then show up as a selectable tone when I go to notification sounds through settings?

I'l try it tonight when i return home.

Thanks for the tip of Notepicker, I've looked at that as an option.

yes, as well as every other notification selector's settings of course (gmail, gtalk), but you might need to reboot the phone before they show up

you can also create folders called alarms for the alarm clock sounds and ringtones for incoming calls

Have already done this for Desire but it threw me a bit with the tones on the Galaxy, maybe I was tired yesterday  I'll have another look tonight.

Well, tried that and it did not work!

made a folder on the sd card called Notifications, dropped the notification tone into it, re-booted phone and went to settings, notification tones and it didn't show up.

any ideas?
