Help Notification volume issue

I have the same issue but only if I do the *3282# (*DATA#) or *646# (*MIN#). I set my notification volume to max and if I do any of the above to check data usage or min usage, the volume level drops back down to the default level of about 30% on its own. I posted this observation in the "random shutdown" forum.

There is a software bug in the phone.

This is naother bug for wheich we need fix. I work with testing, validation ,and development of embedded systems. Whoever signed off this software, has no idea how to do their job.

Wow. I never noticed that.

If you have Tasker, you can set profiles to keep the volumes exactly the way you want them until you go to another profile.

Would be overkill to get Tasker just to solve this prob as it is expensive and has a steep learning curve.

But if you ever decide to get Tasker for other reasons, then you can use it to fix this particular problem as well.

I try to keep my phone running lean as possible. The only app I use frequently (running in the background) is Captivate Keep Alive and Advanced Task Killer. My phone is set to kill all non-critical apps automatically. When I check the available RAM, it usually shows about 190 to 205 Megs free. I don't run live wallpaper, widgets, task managers... etc etc. Even with all the non-critical programs killed, my phone receives SMS and emails reliably. My battery also lasts full working day, typically about 15 hours. I can run my phone from full charge to "your battery is low" warning time of almost 30 hours, but I plug it back up to charge every night. My phone has been running flawlessly, except for the random powering down problem which was "patched" with CKA. There are software bugs in the phone but overall, it seems to be working ok. The volume issue is one I discovered. Another one I noticed is that before I started using ATK, the RAM would slowly drop lower and lower after using various phone functions and apps. Eventually, the phone would start to lag and get sluggish. There seems to be a memory leak, but I can't verify that. Before using ATK, the available memory left was hovering around 40 Megs. It's gotten down to low of 15 Megs and I noticed the phone was very sluggish. A reboot cured it until the memory dropped low again. ATK is now set to kill any apps I use as soon as I shut off the screen. The phone doesn't seem to lose available memory slowly now. Just my observation.
