Help Notification Volume Low

I have my notification volume set to 100% and when I get a text/email or anything, it sounds like about 20% of what it used to. If you go in to settings to select a different notification and select it to play the preview of the tone, the first time you hit it the volume is very weak, if you hit it again it's at least 2-3 times louder. It seems like the volume fades from 0% to 50% when playing the notification tone. Then when you play it again it just plays it 100%. I don't hear half of my notifications anymore and this is a HUGE problem.

Anybody have a solution?

The only other things I know that would effect volume sound besides actually setting the volume would be:

-Quiet ring on pickup
-Pocket Mode (makes sounds lounder while the phone is in your pocket or bag)

Other then that I'm not sure what the problem could be. Like most electroic things a simple reboot can often fix the problem.

Not sure if this helps. Good luck.

I've played around with those settings and it didn't make a difference. Reset the phone by a battery pull and nothing. Did a hard reset, and still no difference.

Ive had the same problem even back on 2.2 My volume will be set at 100%, when i hit my volume up the "ding" sounds like its at 25% and when i hit it again a second later its plays at 100%. Even my notifications start off soft then all of a sudden jump to 100%.

I seen it on 2.2 as well, but now its worse on 2.3. I believe it has to do with the new task manager killing the speaker as soon as its not in use. Take for example when playing music, all notification sounds will be loud because the speaker is already in use. But when it isn't notifications are quiet, even when you first open up the dialer the first key you press is quiet. Hope there's a fix for this.

I just tested my dialer tones and my phone does it as well, not a big deal for me. Maybe its one of those sense features. Gives you an opertunity to change the volume level to fit the enviorment you are in? Although I could only see people raising the volume and not lowing it. An example I could think of if you were sitting in a "quiet" enviorment and forgot to turn your volume down/off and went to dial a number, having the first tone softer as a reminder.
