Help Notification won't disappear

I have a Samsung Galaxy Rugby (Pro)LTE, Model: SGH-I547, Android ver. 4.1.1 - Jellybean
Rooted with cwmr_root.zip, Odin 3.07.

All works fine except now I have a notification of a new voicemail and I can't clear it like usual. Tried updating everything and rebooting, still can't clear it.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Wolf

I have a similar issue when I did the most recent Lolipop update to 5.1.1. Ever since update I've had a notification that I have 2 voice mails, but in reality I don't and never had any voice mails at the time I started receiving the messages.

Already tried leaving myself a voicemail and then clearing it but no change on the phone. Tried cycling power, no change. Tried clearing all app cache, no change. Tried updating PRL and Profile, that makes it go away for a little bit but then it returns.

Any ideas?

Try going into Settings -> Apps -> find the voicemail and/or dialer app (not sure which one would placing the icon in notification bar for you -> uncheck the "Show notifications" icon.

If that doesn't make the notification disappear right away (it did for me when I tried this for the Google Play app), try a reboot afterwards.

You can then re-enable that notification again in the app if that trick worked and was just a one-time thing.

Let us know if that works! :)

Sorry forgot to include that in my first list... yeah I disable notifications of anything I could find remotely related to the voicemail, phone, google voice... this appears to be something related to google voice as when you call "voicemail" it says it's google voice.

However, google voice still has it's own notification for activity... so not clear to me how these 2 voicemail services are being linked...?

I can get it to go away temporarily by updating PRL and restarting, but the notification comes back after an hour or so...
