Help notifications and ringtones

Hi

I just upgraded to Incredible 2 from Eris this week and am having some problems I never had with Eris. (There's a list, but I'll just touch on this one.)

I make my own notifications and ringtones, and I've always used Astro to put them into: sd card --> media --> audio --> either ringtones or notifications. But on I2, there are also files in the sd root: sd card ---> ringtones or notifications. I'm massively confused as to where to put my notifications. (I actually don't have a problem with the ringtones -- I put them into sd card --> media --> audio --> ringtones.)

But the notifications are entirely screwed up. I've tried putting them into both the sd card root notification file, and also the media-audio-notification file, but quite a few of the wav files won't play ("cannot play this type of file"). Even some of my previously-used wav files (worked on Eris) are not working, though most of them are. I'm deleting the nonfunctional ones, but I'm still seeing a few show up on the notification sounds list in settings.

In Eris, I used mp3 for ringtones and wav for notifications. Is this the right format?

I also came from the Eris and moved all my custom ringtones and notifications into the same exact spot on my DInc2 with no problems ... I should note all of my files are mp3's

So you moved your files to sd card --> media --> sounds --> ring/notif?

I've always used wav files for notifications, but I'm going to try uploading some mp3's to see if they're more reliable. I did upload quite a few wav's, most of which did work.

Thanks much - I'm going to delete and then re-upload the files into the correct folder.

ETA: Got it. I converted all my WAV files, and the mp3 files that wouldn't play, on the Free Studio audio converter to mp3 files. Loaded all into the Download files on sd card. Then used Astro to cut and past the audio files into media/sounds/notifications. It worked perfectly. Thanks again!
