Root Notifications don't notify after root.

Last night I finally rooted my phone. I replaced the stock ROM with Cyanogenmod 7.1, running Android 2.3.7. First of all, I love it, the interface is much nicer. BUT for some reason it doesn't make any noises when a notification pops up, or a receive a message. Before I had it set to make a noise when something happened - like an app installed. Now that doesn't work, and even text messages cause the phone to buzz but there is no sound.

I went through all the settings and turned sounds on everywhere, the volume is turned up and the ringtone works fine but that is all.

This should have been posted to the All things Rooted sub-forum. Rooting-related issues have little to no bearing to casual users, but can still confuse them. Thanks.

It isn't the root, it's the rom you flashed. Look at the IHO thread, this issue has been reported already. I believe there is already a fix, check out the recent posts in that thread for more info.

Next time just hit the report button and ask a mod to move the thread.

And as mkbkr1 said, the 11012011 build of BACKside IHO had a problem with the notification sounds. JerryScript posted a 11022011 build with the issue fixed. Flash the new build and your problem should be fixed.
