Help Notifications from Handcent

I get two notifications on SMS from Handcent. I too have gone and disabled notifications in the standard messages app, turned off everything remotely connected to notifications. I am on an ATT Inspire, Version 2.2.1. I am still getting two popup notifications. One is clearly designated from Handcent and the other popup is not designated or labeled with an App name. No matter which popup I reply to, it opens Handcent. I really only need one popup, so how do I stop the second?
 
are you talking about the quick message reply that shows the message and a reply box or are you referring to the little icon that pops up in the notification bar at the top of the screen? if they are in the bar up top can you describe what the notification icons look like?
 
As I am new... Not sure if I am describing correctly. What I am referring to appears in the middle of my screen, and wakes my phone, if it is asleep. I be I've you term it quick message reply. I get two for each incoming text
 
by any chance do you have the sms popup app installed? if so that is why you are getting 2 pop ups. handcent itself has its own pop up window that can be enabled if using the sms pop up app then you will still get the handcent window plus the sms window.

if you just want to use the handcent quick reply open handcent menu-settings-notifications-enable popup and you can uninstall that other app

you dont need sms popup app if using handcent, mainly used for stock apps that dont have the pop up option
