notifications interupting music

i don't understand why google doesn't have a more elegant way of doing this.
why can't they stream sounds from both sources at the same time, instead of lowering the mp3?
i know the phone can handle 2 audio streams at the same time.

If you mean lowering the music volume or pausing for a second, its by design (its actually app dependent). The phone is perfectly capable of playing two streams, but apps can be programmed to watch for certain events that happen on the phone and behave accordingly. Google Music lowers the volume, and BeyondPod, what I use for podcasts, pauses for a second to play the notification tone, so I'm sure its up to the app developer on what the player does when the phone plays a notification sound.

So its not really inherently Google's fault, unless your using a Google app.

Personally I like the lowering volume better than pausing, but that's my preference.
