Help Notifications Shortcut Missing?

Anyone find a way to put a "Notifications" shortcut on the main touchscreen? You can find and put just about any other tool type shortcut, but this one is missing. Kind of knit picking, but I would rather have a one touch access to my notifications than have to access via two buttons (menu bottom phone button/then notifications button in the menu pop up screen). It is suppose to be easy, right!

Have you tried dragging down the top notification Bar?

what about REVIEWING a list of the notifications?

For example, sometimes the phone dings and shows the notification so fast before i can get it outta my pocket, then disappears before u had time to read it or the whole message.(and these types im asking about just dont stay up in the top of screen to pull down)
One good example is setting up bluetooth for the 1st time and when going thru the whole process there were some details as to why it wasnt setting up/connecting but then were gone in 2seconds. (sorry i dont have more examples,specifics, im a light/new user)
