Help Notifications sound even when they are silent - help!

I searched the forum and didn't find any issue like the one I've been having since I did a clean wipe of my EVO a couple days ago.

Ever since, I get GMAIL notifications (sound), Installed apps sound notifications, etc etc even though I have all but a few apps' notifications set to silent or unchecked. Basically, I'm still getting notification sounds when in the corresponding apps I have them unchecked or set to silent - and I JUST did a factory reset.

Is this a bug? Am I missing a setting? I'm not a total newbie so I kinda know what I'm doing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I had to play with mine too...Settings>sound>Sound Profile "Silent" then Volume (set audio volume)...set your volume to desired levels for that profile. Do the same for "Vibrate" and "Normal"
