Help Notifications while talking.

I turned off the alerts while on the phone. But for some reason when I get a text, email, or what not it still vibrates really loud. And the person on the other side can still hear the vibrate as well as key presses. Did I miss something in the settings.
 
In open dial pad hit menu - call settings- call alert

let me re clarify. I am only getting text message vibrations. And the only way I found around it. Is to turn off text vibrate all together. Then when on silent it doesn't vibrate I have a text. I just have to make sure I can see my led indicator which sucks if I am somewhere I can't have my phone on sound.
 
By chance are you using a 3rd party messaging app? I use Go SMS and there are separate settings within the app to turn off notifications during a call. Also, there are separate notification settings in the gmail app.
 
I know exactly what to op is talking about and can relate. I think having vibration during a call is the best we can achieve at least in stock form. Unckecking vibration in the sms app solves one problem but creates another. I'll live with the vibration in my ear as opposed to a loud notification going off during a call which can be very startling.
 
The notifications can also be heard by the other party on the call too. Samsung really stupid design on that one
 
Is there really no way around this or are some people's Note II settings just not working properly? I will not buy this phone if notifications/vibrate cannot be turned off during a call. Had this issue on my Thunderbolt but was fortunately able to turn it off. It is very annoying, on both ends of the call!

As far as I know, in stock forn you'll either choose from a vibration during a call or a sound as far as notification goes. Can't disable it unless someone finds some sort of app that remedies this problem. I can say that with either sound or vibrate, the person on the other end can't hear my notifications, I've asked.

Trust me, having a notification sound going off while your talking is extremely annoying. Especially if you get them constantly. Of course, I do have a ringtone as a notification sound and boy, that dang thing keeps going and going. I'd rather have the vibration but everyones scenario is different. This phone is too awsome, I can live with minor inconveniences here and there. Hopefully they will iron some more stuff out for the Note 3.
