Help Notifications

I have the incredible and when I lock my phone I still receive a notification near the bottom of the screen which actually contains a portion of the sms message. I dont mind the message notification at the top left but i find the one near the bottom which contains a portion of the message a little annoying. I would like to keep the top notification and eliminate the one near the bottom for privacy reasons. how do i do that?

Notifications that are not in the notification bar are most likely part of a widget.

I have an Inc2 and in privacy, there is an option to eliminate the bottom notification of the lockscreen.
