Are the popular apps getting smarter?

I installed both K-9 and Handcent SMS when I got my Inspire and never had duplicate email or SMS notifications by using these programs. Is this common?


Anyone know how you set how often K-9 checks email?
 
I believe you have to tap on a account then tap menu-more-settings -account settings -fetching mail-polling frequency or scroll down to advanced
I can't remember which one at the moment.

Oh and I believe your email has to be setup as a POP account not IMAP. As I think IMAP will update your email from server automatically whenever the server gets an email it will be pushed to your phone. But POP will let you set the frequency.
