Hello all,

I recently downloaded a sound file onto my computer, and transferred it over to my phone to have it associated with notifications - all of that seemed to work successfully. However, now my phone will sometimes use the default notification sound despite being instructed to use the sound file, both (as a result of using sounds in Light Flow Lite), or nothing at all. How do I fix this so that the Yoshi sound I installed is the only notification sound that plays, and to ensure that it plays every time? I'm using Android 4.2.2 on a Verizon Samsung Galaxy Nexus.

Thank you for your assistance.

Hello and Welcome to the Forums :) we're glad your here.

There are occasions when the default notification will play like when your phone is hooked up to the computer. The only way I know to gaurantee the song you want as default every time is to use a rooted phone and place the song you want in the /system/media/audio/notifications folder. Again though this must be a rooted device. after putting it in there reboot the device and then choose it as the default again.

I had this issue also when I first started using light flow. I don't know if you are making a similar mistake as me, but this was my issue. For example:

I had the messaging app using Tone A as a notification and I had light flow using Tone A also. So, I would hear Tone A twice. Then I switched to messaging using Tone A and Light Flow using Tone B and I heard both.

The solution was that I had messaging set to "none" or silent" and I had Light Flow do all the alert tones.

(Or if you want to get really tricky...I have messaging alert me with Tone A and then only use "repeat sound" on light flow as a follow up.)

Thank you both! (and thank you, argedion, for the warm welcome). I will start by trying out gtbarry's advice, then proceed to possibly rooting my phone if that's necessary. As a matter of fact, might I bother you, argedion, for more information on rooting?

I think light flow is an amazing app. If you like it and just need a little help feel free to ask. also, the app developer is a member of this forum. Andrew something. (Proudmoore?) I think.
