is there a setting so when u get a text the screen doesnt turn on automatically? its really annoying.

I would like to know this as well. Coming from the iPhone 5, I find this "feature" rather annoying and would love to turn it off.

Not in the Stock messaging app. I switched to ChompSMS today for emojis (also not in the stock messaging app) and that app does have the option of not having the screen come on if you get a message when the phone is sleeping.
