I always set my default notification sound to silent. Then I can add sounds only for those that I want to hear.
Some apps let you set a notification sound within the app, others don't and those are stuck with the default sound from system settings. If you set your system default notification sound as a real sound, you can still silence individual apps, but only IF those apps had a setting (or by turning system notification volume to zero which will affect all notifications). In this case you want to silence one app that doesn't have a setting, so the only way to do it (again without setting system notification volume to zero and silencing all notifications) is to set the default notification sound to point to a file which has no sound, called silence.
Setting default notification sound to silent would be in system settings. For me on 4.4.4 it's in sound / notifications / (If asked) media storage. Scroll to the silent sound and select it. If you don't have a silent sound, you can download one and aedd it to an appropriate directory...Then it will show in the list.
Adding sounds for those you want to hear would be done within the particular app, assuming it lets you set a sound.
Check out the app Light Flow pro and quickly see if it supports the AF app. If not, uninstall it for a refund.
Actually I'll check it out for you now.....
Nope sorry it doesn't seem to support our app (yet) but I'm gonna send a mail to the dev, he's a really nice guy.
Light Flow basically offers full control of app notifications from vibrate to LED to notification sound (or lack of)
You can long press on a notification to bring up app setting details, and then uncheck "show notifications".
Yes, it is one by one. But you don't have to go find the applications and you don't have to dig into different types of menus for each application. Just wait for a notification to come to you. If you decide that you never want another notification from that particular application again, then long press, click the button labeled app settings, and uncheck show notifications...you're Done!
