Root Nougat update for zte zmax pro

We don't know when it's coming out, if at all. I've heard that ZTE is already working on it, so it might be out by November or December, but I have no clue.

6.0.1 and 7.0 aren't a worlds difference anyway, so I don't really mind if we don't get it. At least we don't have KitKat.

From what i have read they are releasing the 7.0 update between late Nov - Jan. So just keep checking your device.
Right now i am just thanking my lucky stars i got away from that Asus Zenfone 2. Oh that thing was horrible.

You were lucky. My Nexus 10 was murdered by lollipop. It made it slow and clunky to the point I stopped using it . I should've went back and just flashed kit Kat again but I got a nexus 7 and forgot about the 10.

Well yeah, the Note 2 never got official Lollipop, so of course that's the only way you could've used it on there

Actually, I was incorrect. I had lollipop on my LG G Stylo but I rooted it and updated to Marshmallow after only 3 months.

Stock Lollipop will kill most of old devices, I personally had my Nexus 7 sabotaged by Lollipop too.

But Lollipop that comes from carriers by OTA is good, I have an HTC and a LG with Lollipop tweaked by theirs respective carriers and both run smoothly.

Here's something concrete for everyone.

Coupla months ago Zte promised a simple MM bug patch in a coupla days.

It's time to move on. There is no Tooth Fairy, there is no Santa Claus.
Forget any useful update.

And forget any useful root as well. Even if it arrives, it may not lead to a fix of the inherent bugs.
(just like Viagra doesn't - over 50% of American moms still wind up upgrading-err divorcing.)
Zmax's about to be put to pasture by the next thing with larger screen density /ram/storage/, better battery / USB, wireless/quicker charge, NFC, etc.

Anyway, 2Gb Ram not enough.
Oh, yeah - Happy Holidays!

PS What did you just say?! U twakin' ta me?

I actually think Android N will come sooner than the months we waited for the bug fix update. It has to do with that new app mbn test. Googling about it, just makes me :D. IT will definitely be easier to update anything on our phone now. IMO.

You have a point...Nougat now does seem more imminent, than when I ranted just before the initial patch.
Once the holidays pass it'll be like a half year since release though - and since this phone is a step-up only*** - i'd rather see efforts going into a hardware, instead of software, upgrade.
If /when Nougat gets here, then its initial bugs squelched...

***This may sound harsh, but it's today's reality - we want to trade up from the things that slow us or even anchor us down. This would include lugging around laptops and portable power, plus having to plan our routes & pit stops around available outlets & WiFi.
Now, 2017 is looking like the year of our liberation -
Between Qualcomm developing that plug in 5 minutes for a 5 hour battery juice SD835 on(removable battery now becomes a MUST addition OR "only cheaper alternative")...
To the next Surface Phone specs of 8gb+512gb+wireless docking station...

Some of us on the Zmax Pro are really ready for phone upgrade-having maxed out ram n storage while making do without NFC + removable battery or really fast charging.
To the point that an incremental upgrade may be useless - a 3gb/64gb doesn't inspire much longevity or heavy use confidence ...maybe if it also included larger resolution /screen /IR/etc ...something ...Phones are replacing computers for almost everyone - student, worker...

If you think so little of the phone, why did you buy it in the first place? I don't think anyone was pretending it was anything other than a really good budget phone.

This is the reality of buying a budget phone - 1/2 a year later specs are dated, you move on- especially because one is already accepting somewhat dated specs (in return for the budget price), and in this case, since life - altering specs are coming next year.
AAANNNDDD because of the continuing piss poor ZTE software work(especially no root-which would make everything bearable /fixable) - look how long the original Zmax users suffered. I sincerely thought that was going to be a thing of the past / progressing as the company grew. This shortens even further the useful time-line of this phone. :(:):)

I'm not a binary thinker (troll / fan boy, black /white, dem/rep) you have to call a spade a spade.

And the situation is worse for those of us on no BYOD restrictions by the carrier. Plus much worse for those who want larger phones - we give up even more in specs... since no one really wants to make really large models - upscale or budget.
It's not about money either - I cannot spend 1k to get the phone(or even Windows / Linux tablet) i want.

I really am not into 'having the latest and greatest gadget every month' thing, I think it is a waste of money. I use my device/gadget until they get broken. I see no point in keeping up with the tech coz like you said, a month later your $1000 phone/console is priced way lower than it was new. Because they have another crazy expensive phone gadget to lure the 'stoopids' to buy the high price new toy when a month later I can buy it for cheap brand new.

That actually is what I always do wait a month, so I can buy that overpriced gadget a month ago for cheap.

It is never ending. better, faster bigger EVERY month, I blame the fan boys for burning their money on all those actually. What a waste of money.

I just checked my email. The metrosupport twitter person must be lonely. Kept DMing me. I would have replied if his answer to my question when we will get Android N is helpful, Sadly, it's not. He did not even really answered my question though.

He just told me how to check for update on my phone manually. Well duh thanks Capt. Obvious. Oh God how I would love to have his job. Someone give me that job already!! A.S.A.P.!!!
