Now that Gingerbread has been released...

Will the epic even get gingerbread?

IF Samsung is smart they will upgrade the entire Galaxy S line. The only "hardware" difference that I read was the NFC chip inside the Nexus S. Otherwise the Nexus S seems VERY similar to the rest of the Galaxy S family.

again, big IF

I haven't learned enough to really be the judge but it seems like it should be pretty simple for Samsung to release Gingerbread for the Galaxy S line now with the Nexus S. I figure if they don't do it then there will definitely be a developer that will pick up their slack.

I was so happy to see Samsung keeping the same hardware for the Nexus S as the Galaxy S line. I would think the Epic will eventually get Honeycomb too but I'd guess that won't be from Samsung.

I so hope a developer makes a 2.3 rom.

Well atleast us epic owners should be happy since we have the same hardware of the officiall google phone we can probably get all the future updates and hopefully more support from rom developers.

You know I was really hoping 2.3 would have hardware acceleration support to really utilize our GPU.
It would really make android dominant.

i think we're going to get a gingerbread rom before the end of the year! nexus s and epic hardware is pretty similar

yea, i would like to see the latest for the epic. but yet again i let samsung suck me into a phone with the slowest damn updates. im about fed up now with much regret because i really like the epic.

Ok here goes:

One bright day in the middle of the night
2 dead mean got up to fight
back to back they faced each other
drew their swords and shot each other
a deaf police man heard the noise
he came and shot those two dead boys
now If you don't beleive that this lie is true...
ask the blind man, he saw it too.
