Root now that ubuntu touch has been ported to android devices when will we see it on the reverb

ive been eagerly waiting por miui or at least cyanogen but nothing yet so i was curious if any one has any thoughts on the possibility of having any thing else other than android running on the REVERB
 
Ubuntu just used CM's code for their early "Phone & Tablet" release..
And I don't see them thanking CM for all the code they used.

I like that Ubuntu is easy to use and thus get more people into GNU/Linux but I'm really starting to completely dislike Ubuntu. But I can't completely until they close their source up (which may never happen).

Just saying.
It's not easy to get them running on Devices other Nexus line or flagship phones. But it will (probably) happen in the near future.
 
If this device ever gets JB 4.2.X MAYBE Ubuntu can be ported. But, basically, if the device can run CM-10.1 Ubuntu is not a hard leap. What is most likely to happen is that this device, like so many before it, will get rotated out of the update cycle because Samsung makes money by selling devices and loses money by providing updates. This device hasn't seen an update, not a version bump update anyway, and now Sprint is opening up the network so people can take their compatible devices from Sprint to Virgin and Boost. For Samsung that means fewer mid-low devices sold by Sprint, Boost or Virgin in general forcing Samsung to save face in the top tier for sure. Your best bet is to find a Galaxy S III on ebay, activate it on Virgin or Boost and get everything you want and more.
