Nvidia Vs ATI

Hi guys,

Which one would you choose?

I'm Nvidia all the way. The only way I would use an ATI, is if you bought me it and I couldn't afford to get the Nvidia GPU I wanted.

I.e. The Laptop I'm currently using.

Acer Aspire 5536:
AMD Athlon Dual 64 2.1GHz,
ATI Radeon HD 3200.

Which is pants. I can't play any games.

Over 2 years ago I had this laptop and I could play loads.

Acer Aspire 5920G:
Intel Core 2 Duo T7300 2.0GHz,
GeForce 8600.

I don't know much about current state ATI vs Nvidia laptop graphics. I would guess go with Nvidia.

But what I do know is that Acer 5920G and its bigger brother the 6920G. Where, and still are really good entertainment and gaming machines. I only sold my 6920G, because of emigrating.

Been nvidia for me. Got a Geforce 6150se in my desktop (not that great) but i dont play any heavy graphics games :p. My 4 year old laptop have a Quadro 1600m and still plays my games just as well if not better than my 2 year old desktop. lol. Also nvidia works pretty much flawless for me in linux compared to the ati stories ive read.

Nvidia.

I used to like ATI/AMD back in the early 2000's. I switched to Nvidia probably due to driver issues or something a few years ago. Been going with Nvidia ever since.

I have always tended to be NVIDIA centric when I build my own PCs...
been using nVidia since riva 128 (4mb of sGram, not the usual sDram lol)
from 98, we went through
Riva 128 (Diamond Viper V330) (also still in perfect/mint condition - PCI)
Tnt2 vanta LT 8mb (no name "cicero/medion branded" -AGP)
Tnt2 M64 16mb (MSI -PCI)
GeForces:
mx 32mb (MSI -AGP)
2 mx/TI 32/64 (MSI/Leadtek- AGP)
4 mx 440 /TI 4200 64 (Jaton/MSI)
Fx 5700 128mb (MSI)(tried an ATI 9600 pro 256mb 1 day and went back to nVidia 5700 128mb lol)
6200 tc 64mb but boosted to 256 "thanks to Turbocache"(same as tnt2 vanta - PCIe)
7800gt 256mb"3 days after the 6200"(BFG oc'ed from factory but reflashed to 650/1525/1850 - PCIe)
8800gt SLI + 9800gt "physx" total 1.5gb (XFX all of them reflashed to 670/1600/2000 - PCIe)

sold my twins for this one
GTX 460 1gb (Palit super sonic edition 800/1600/4000 - PCIe)
and now its and amd/ati kickass :p

and i still remember all brands :p

also i have a matrox MGA 8mb (was for an IBM desktop - AGP)
a Diamond Multimedia 3d Monster 4mb (voodoo)
and finally a Diamond Multimedia 3d Monster II 12mb (voodoo 2) (with a SLI connector "1st Gen")

(also wich if you have some i'm buyer loljust got an old s370 board with 6 pci slot and an agp one so... I would like to build what would been called the ultimate machine for the late 90s

sadly my brother and father went toward ATI/AMD
