I'm glad to hear people FINALLY talking sense and point out that there will never be an iphone killer, because there won't be. BUT, there can be an iphone KILLER. What I mean is there will never be a phone that will thrash the iphone in sales, but, HOPEFULLY, there will one day be a phone that will kick the iphone's ass in terms of being a much better phone. For you android fanboys out there, the droid ain't it. You're not gonna make a phone better than the iphone by out-doing it at what it doesn't do or do well, such as multi-tasking, swappable battery, expandable memory and whatever other weaknesses it has. The ONLY way to beat the iphone is to do those things AND beat it at what it does great. When a phone can beat the iphone in ease of use, smoothness of operation, browsing, have enough, not necessarily as many, apps, etc. AND do multi-tasking, have a faster processer, expandable memory, etc. THEN that phone might beat the iphone in terms of being a much more desireable phone. A few may say the Droid is better than the iphone, but when you have to qualify that statement by saying it's a better choice for techie people and those who don't mind a phone that's not as easy to set up and use, that's not really what I would call kickin the iphone's ass.
I'm not an apple fanboy. I'm someone who's waiting on the right android phone on the right carrier before I jump in. The Droid is very tempting, but not sure tempting enough to jump ship from Sprint and pay an extra $40-50 a month for. If the hero had at least a 3.5 or 3.7 screen I would more than likely have gotten it already.
