Really an appointment? The BB in Chelsea are not taking any appointments

BB in Chelsea called me on Monday to set up an appointment for 8:15 AM. Are you sure about that?

EDIT: Scratch that; glad I read this post. Even though I put in my preorder at the Chelsea BB, the BB Mobile in Union Square called me to set up a preorder appointment. Bizarre. I would've shown up to the Chelsea BB feeling like a fool on Friday.

ordered mine at bestbuy in westbury, LI and originally had an 11:30am appointment, BB called and asked if i wanted to come in earlier, i now have a 7:30AM appointment..

I couldn't get on the pre-order list at my local RS, but the sales rep took my name and other info last friday, and today I got a call from her stating that there are two remaining units left from the pre-orders, and if I want one, I need to come at 6am on the morning of the 4th.

Yes, you are damn right ... I will be there at 6am!!!

do you guys think that I can walk in to either BB or RS and purchase an evo? I didn't do a pre-order

RS on 14th Street btwn University Place & 5th Ave (might be btwn 5th & 6th) will be open at 6AM. I was told they will have "around 10" extra. I went after preorders were closed, but they took my name & number and they said they're gonna hold one for me.

Personally I'd prefer getting it at a Sprint Store (even though I have no real rational reason to prefer it). I'm on a list at one of them and I was told I'd be getting a call for an appointment tomorrow (Thursday). If that works out (including a guarantee that there will be one waiting for me) I will not be going to RS.

EDIT: I'm wondering if the 1 guy who chose "other" is just gonna be hanging out near a store and find a likely candidate to steal one from

I was given 10% off the phone at the BB mobile store in midtown but they weren't sure if they were going to have them in Friday morning, so I stayed with the Chelsea location but if they get it in early, then I'll be going there
