The app will be installed as a system app, in /system/app, and can simply be deleted with root access. What does it do, anyway?

on entering it sends the same request code for internet access back to o2
which then comes back saying whack whack oops no can do.....

and please forgive my ignorence but what is root access?????
access to root files.
like the C-drive on a PC instead of not having any access outwith the user folders.
administrative access is another way to look at it, you can access any file on your phone allowing you to remove system apps and such

ok, so how would i find that,?
i don't know how this o2 settings app appeared, all i did was request settings via mms to 2020. and i certainly never downloaded it, but but it seems that is a default file and therefore won't go anywhere.???

I guess, that because you posted your question in the, "All Things Root", section of the Samsung Galaxy SII forum, we thought you had already rooted your phone.

This will explain rooting and how to do it as well as removing default app's (posts #1 & #2):-

Hope this helps.
