o2 debranded desire

hi guys.ive a debranded o2 desire and today its lots its reception and everyone i know still has o2 reception,when i called o2 they asked what software i had and when i told then(2.29.405.5)they told me i might need to ugrade the software but as im debranded the last time i tried ota it fooked my fone so im wondering if this is the case or if theres a new ruu rom i cant go with via gold card??my wifi is still going but just cant phone or txt,just says limited service,thanks for any help.
 
Thats the latest build. There is nothing newer.

Have you tried the sim in another handset or another sim in your handset? I recommend trying both if you can.

I doubt that the software is the issue, but never know.
 
cheers SUroot.its just switched itself back on so who knows what was up.i was para coz im running debranded software incase i couldnt get i fixed but will keep an eye on it,cheers again for your reply
 
its wentoff line again so something is pooped.the o2 update is a differant rom number and htc had a froyo update rom with differant number released a few weeks ago,
 
Could be a dodgy SIM card. So rule this out first if you can. Swap sim cards with someone on O2 to see what happens. I would suspect this is more likely.

And yes, o2 is 2.14.207.1 is the latest RUU available. You wont need a goldcard for that, but if it wont let you upgrade (current software version newer) then you may have to downgrade before you can use that one.
 
i'll see if i can get another simcard,out of interest,ive seen new desire froyo rom 2.11.573 is this anygood to me??
 
ye mate.positive,it says desire froyo 2.11.573 and its done by acresso software inc the same as the other ones if downloaded.tried a payas you go sim and the same,no signal it wont even let me call o2 top up
