Obama's scandals

Barack Milhous Nixon... some of us see the similarities.

Fast forward four decades, and our 44th president, Barack Obama, and his administration are taking a page from the Nixon playbook by targeting their political enemies in the Tea Party. Richard Milhous Nixon must be blushing.

Benghazi. I've been saying since the beginning there was a cover up so it didn't hurt Obama's campaign.

IRS targeting those that oppose Obama or support liberty

AP phone records theft

These are just the biggest, most public ones right now (any one of which justifies impeachment). I am soooo happy that these are all happening at once and glad that the media was the target of one. It put a huge smile on my face to watch the press beat up on Carney in the press conference for almost an hour and keep asking one question after another he didn't want to answer.

At a minimum this should effectively end Obama pushing any agenda for the rest of his term. Hopefully though, he will be impeached and tried for his crimes. America might have a chance to survive Obama now!!!

Sound familiar to what is going on now??

IRS targeting those that oppose Obama or support liberty
Before this scandal broke, nonprofit groups were already making headlines for their political spending. Secretive nonprofits like Karl Rove's Crossroads GPS, the Koch-funded Americans for Prosperity, and the American Action Network spent huge sums of money to influence the 2012 elections. Campaign watchdogs say those groups have flouted the law, which says 501(c)(4) groups can't make politics their "primary purpose." Watchdogs have demanded that the IRS and the Federal Election Commission crack down on these nonprofits for spending too much time and money on politics.

What they did went far beyond cracking down on political groups. First they were singling out groups pertaining to "Tea Party," "the Constitution," "Want America to be a better place," "Patriot," etc.

Second, the questions that were being asked went far beyond the scope of what is normally asked of anyone wanting a tax exempt status. They were being asked for lists of all of their members and contributors, printouts of every Facebook post the organization had ever made, etc

If this was simply "cracking down" it wouldn't be a scandal. This was specific targeting of anyone who does not like Obama or a big over reaching government.

The assumption all along had been that behind the IRS harassment was a political motivation.

It's an assumption, for some reason Obama is guilty of everything what's happening around. Well maybe if republicans did not screwed up so badly last election, that wouldn't be happening.
Anyway here is an article related to this one The Jewish Press

BTW IRS apologized for their actions.

My bad, I didn't realize they apologized

It really doesn't matter if Obama told them to do it or not. It is yet another scandal that occurred under his watch, and this one directly benefited him. The same people responsible for this are the ones that are going to be overseeing Obamacare. I can see it now. Someone supports freedom, and all of a sudden they are denied medical care. Not to mention the way things are set up, the IRS can destroy a person and be judge, jury, and executioner and people are guilty until proven innocent when dealing with the IRS.

Imagine the outrage if it was demarcates that we're targeted! Things like "Big government," "immigration supporters," "raise taxes," "occupy ____," etc had been the catch words to flag years of run around and over reaching questions.

I'm not saying they are right or wrong but wasn't those same groups you & I mention supporting the tea party in one way or another?
In the spring of 2012, so many conservative groups had complained about the IRS harassing them that Republicans in Congress took notice. Rep. Charles Boustany (R-La.) sent the IRS a letter asking why it was targeting tea partiers, and Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) held a hearing in which he grilled then-IRS Commissioner Douglas Shulman, a George W. Bush appointee, over the agency's treatment of conservative groups. Shulman denied that his agency was targeting conservatives, and the controversy remained quiet until Lerner's apology.
It may be alot more to this then we know!

Its not an assumption as much as it is an educated guess!

As for his guilt or innocence or his knowledge of the issues or lack thereof, you simply cannot have it both ways. He really is either guilty/lying or inept and there is not much more to it.

You cannot tell me that you buy this deception routine the administration is playing with every issue that comes to the surface, that "they knew nothing". The law of averages alone says they knew about or where involved in or where responsible for at least one of these issues. I sincerely do not care which party you belong to, this is about common sense and accountability at this point.

If they knew nothing about any of this, it should alarm us all, almost as much as if they were guilty or involved! I mean watch these press conferences...every single one of them is full of hesitant, stuttered, metered responses to straight forward questions. Jay Carney looks like his head is about to explode.

From Peggy Noonan, one-time sort-of supporter:

This Is No Ordinary Scandal

Political abuse of the IRS threatens the basic integrity of our government.

The president, as usual, acts as if all of this is totally unconnected to him. He's shocked, it's unacceptable, he'll get to the bottom of it. He read about it in the papers, just like you.

Add losing a drone over Iran (some say brought down virtually undamaged by EW equipment) and then publicly asking for it to be returned to the wall of shame...

Iran

Losing such an advanced drone to Iran is bad enough. Playing the victim afterwards and asking for it to be returned is just lame. The previous administration made a lot of stupid mistakes as well, but at least we were not made to look like weaklings.

From article "All of these IRS actions took place in the years leading up to the 2012 election. They constitute the use of governmental power to intrude on the privacy and shackle the political freedom of American citizens. The purpose, obviously, was to overwhelm and intimidate

That is how he has been his entire presidency, starting immediately after his election with his world wide apology tour apologizing for America's freedoms and bowing to foreign leaders. Then came the weakening of our military and his inability to even say the words "Islamic terrorism"

You are joking right? You don't see the issue??? Anyone who wanted America to be a better place was singled out for extra scrutiny. First off, by being denied tax exempt status a large portion of their donations had to go to the IRS instead of educating people. Second, they were asking far more questions than any reasonable person would find acceptable to gain more knowledge about their "enemies." Third, have you ever dealt with the IRS? Do you know how stressful that is, especially if it is undeserved stress??

And they are guilty, they already admitted it!!! This would be just as bad if it was the other way and it was the tyranny loving, big government, live off hand out people that were scrutinized. The IRS can not have any bias, any political agenda because of the nature of the organization. They have to power to literally destroy a person's life.

Of cause its stressful if you are hiding something. I have a friend who works for IRS and she is an audit.

If Piers Morgan can get it, I don't see how anyone doesn't get it. This administration is out of control! Seriously, he was about as stupid as you can be talking about guns and just talking over anyone on his show that brought up valid points. Even he understands how bad these scandals are.

If he can dislodge his head from Obama's **s over this, when will actual Americans do it????

If obama were a Republican, he'd have been impeached his first term... He needs to man up, and accept responsibility for what he's done wrong.

This sounds like discrimination to me.

But that would never happen, because they'd be playing the race card, or whatever. And if it did happen, those in the IRS responsible, would be arrested, NOT fired.

The IRS is such a joke anyway. I'm sure some left sided politician is behind the scrutiny, but since it happened on obama's watch, he is ultimately responsible. I don't buy his crap about not knowing anything.

Chances are, if you hide a few hundred grand from the IRS and say "I am sorry . . ." you go to jail. Those at the IRS responsible for this latest mess should be strongly punished.

Yeah, let me try that out real quick! Seriously though, you're right about one thing, you'd end up in jail.

I wonder if Obummer has figured it out that people are getting wise to his games?

I'm sure he is far too arrogant for that. And according to recent polls its only about 55% of Americans that are following the scandals closely (not that I put much value in polls). I believe it though. There are people that think he can do no wrong, that he is the messiah, and they can't live without the big government handouts, so they refuse to believe the truth even when it is so painfully obvious.

My neighbor thought he walked on water. He works for a large local company, they cut his hours from 40hrs to 29 hrs a week. He now has no health benefits !
I about soiled my self the other day when he said to me that and to think not only did I vote for that idiot when he ran for President.....but I voted to get him re-elected. The beginning of the year they cut his hours back he's only worked there for about 6 years. So he's low on the totem pole in seniority and his wife has been out of work since Obummer was inaugurated the first time. Loved her unemployment benefits but now she doesn't have them. All I know is I didn't vote for him!

In all fairness, you can blame Merkel or Barasso for that, not Obama. Your president has tried to grow the economy, over here it is all belt-tightening. While US fiscal irresponsibility is a bit disgusting it's not really his fault the business didn't feel able to continue employing him that much. Although I guess you can blame Obama for not instituting non-employer based universal healthcare.

Actually, Obama has not tried to grow the economy at all. Almost all of his policies in fact are aimed at doing the opposite. Just because the market is up, does not mean the economy is. Look at the real numbers: there is a lower percentage of people in the workforce than in decades, there are over 47 million Americans on food stamps, the poverty rate has been going up, etc.

Business can not keep employing people full time and lose millions because of a healthcare law than most Americans don't even want and that hurts tens of millions of citizens while helping very few. It is not the businesses fault.

Anyways, this thread is not about how bad the Obamacare law is or how bad the economy is. This thread is focused on the scandals that should and hopefully will result in Obama's impeachment.
