Got mine to root w/poot finally. Did it by forgetting to unmount sd card. Go figure.

I had luck with this but things were a little different. I got no black screen and simply powered the phone down. I also did mine without the sd card in the slot.

When I got done that root checker app lied and said I had no proper root access yet everything works fine and it is for sure rooted.

Anyhow with a bit of messing around it works and it isn't all that hard to do.

I had no luck with poot on my centura, so I did the cwm method

Yes and you have to download mininstro 2 from play store.

It tells me there is a problem parsing the package. I've tried it with my .sd card in and out. Im on a galaxy centura. Please help because I'm beginning to think there is no hope for me.

Has anyone rooted the Samsung Galaxy Centura SCH-S738C I have Verizon carrier thru TracFone, wishing to get this rooted as it has built in pause's to make it slow your not suppose to get a fast phone, paying $17 a month for service...
