Root [OC+I/O+Gov_KERNEL]{2.6.35.14} Genocide-187 for Stock & CTMod

The~Skater~187

Android Expert
FOR EXPERIENCED USERS ONLY!!!

This is a kernel for Stock, CTMod, & HoneyBread Roms.

DISCLAIMER:
Extremely low or higher than normal frequencies may freeze your phone. Especially high frequencies (such as those enabled in certain custom kernels) have a risk of shortening the life of your phone. If your phone freezes, just yank out the battery. I CAN NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE THIS KERNEL MAY DO TO YOUR PHONE.

I have made a kernel that has been overclocked to 900Mhz (thanks to trenchkato), CPU Governor set to ondemand(stock) this should help battery life, I/O Scheduler set to deadline(stock), and with Hroarks integrated /data to sd-ext.

More Tweaks To Come!
Trying to work out some bugs with some more I/O Tweaks so I can include them in the next update!:p

Use SetCPU, Antutu CPU Master Or Voltage Control to set your cpu speed.

Installation:
1. Make sure you have a working version of CTMod, HalfAss, HoneyBread or Stock Rooted.
2. Reboot into Recovery mode
3. Go to >advanced>wipe Dalvik>yes
4. Mount SD-ext, and hit back
5. Flash the respective .zip
6. Reboot

**I cant stress enough, Make sure you have a new CWM backup before adding this kernel**

Thanks to: Hroark13, zcop, Koumajutsu, thachtunganh, Shabby and Interdepth.

Special Thanks To: Trenchkato, for leading me to some good info on how to do this and helping me big time along the way.

For CTMod, HoneyBread & HalfAss Roms w/EXT4 System Partition Only:

For Stock w/RFS System Partition Only:

md5sum-2eb6c2d393ea8de3d34800e5a32f95f8

The RFS Versions have been tested, but I would like anyone that tries the RFS kernels to keep me updated on it's stability and performance.

Wat rom is this for

Are there any plans to release one that has the Super Secret Mod capabilities that KoumaKernel 2.2 has? I find that moving all of /data to sd is too slow for me even with a class 10 sd card.

How's this coming along? Looking to use this for my gf's prevail as I don't want to move her to EXT4 and this seems to be one of the only stock RFS based kernels I can find here with the options we're looking for.

Edit: Also, might you consider adding Voltage Control support for the overclock? It's a much more stable, reliable app with much better coding and dev support.

This kernel does support the voltage control app. Im currently using it. As for the rfs, it seems I forgot to add the modules back to the ramdisc before I repacked and released the kernel. I'll have the updated version up tomorrow when I get back home.

Thank you. Very much appreciated.

This is an Excellent Kernel The~Skater~187 it works great with the Galaxy Precedent with only a minor alteration to the ramdisk, You will be giving FULL Credits in the AreaRom v3.0 Release if we use your kernel, i am not so sure about including such a kernel with the Rom, so i might post the modified kernel with the release with full credits to you if that is Ok,

I'm pleased with the speed, look, and customisation of honeybread6. I wish it didnt freeze on me every 5 or 10 minutes. I think that the phone is actually shutting down once it hits a certain internal temp...

I'm going back to stock for now. I just wanted to let you know, that you may have a bug somewhere. Hopefully after a lil while I can come back to it, but I'm just gonna install your genocide kernel for stock...

can the 3g turbocharger scripts be used with it?

The reason for the reboot is not all phones have the exact same hardware. This is why some phone take overclocking better than others. As for 3g turbocharger, I would not advise it. HoneyBread has a different 3g script included.

Hi fellas and Happy New Year! I truly apologize for adding to this old thread but I feel it could add more know how' to this topic. So, I'm running a rooted Prevail with 2.3.5 GB and using Link2sd in combo with a 1gb partition on my SD card and have roughly 220 apps. Now is loading this kernel going to cause me to have to reload all my apps? I'm confused as to how this kernel may affect my secondary partition on my card. I've been searching for my situation for a few months and I'm finally ready to try this kernel and its OC capabilities but want to make sure its gonna work with my setup. I'm by no means new to the modding scene but there's always a special situation, like mine lol. Thank you lots for taking the time to read this!
