"Occupy Wallstreet" Video

Apparently there is much dissension in the movement at present over demands. One group seems to think that the group needs to present some demands or the cops will continue to break them up and send them on their way as just a pack of vagrants. Another school of thought is completely opposed to offering any demands at all because they fear that if they do so the demands will be dismissed out of hand, roundly criticized and the group will go down in failure.

I've read reports about body lice and ringworm problems. Violence, drugs, and wanton sex and many are treating the OWS "movement" as a big party. They scream about freedom, yet they defecate in public parks. These people should shut their welfare fed mouths up and get jobs.

These people the press interview are not the brightest LEDs on the string of lights, either. They scream about freedom of speech having no clue what that means. They need to be shut up, shut down, and jailed.

This silly group has no vision and no cohesion. Nobody knows what is the group wants or wants to do. Yesterday, there was a report about someone who said this (paraphrase) "Let's see how Macey's likes a Molotov cocktail thrown thought their window." Yes, let's see it. and then lets see the cops break out their batons and end this crap once and forever.

Her in Utah, some protester told a writer that vacant private land belongs to the people. Lots of people hearing things like this start writing off this movement as a bunch of lazy crazy losers.

Some of these protesters in NYC (I think) believe the Jews are responsible for the Federal Reserve problems and banks in general. Terrible thing to be brain dead.

The press does not generally report what these protesters say yet they wrote endlessly about how racist the Tea Party people are. And the press is patently wrong about us. The press makes me sick.

This is a shameful, insipid, vacuous sideshow and it is time we burn the big top to the ground and put the little clowns back into their little cars. As far as I am concerned, the OWS protesters need to be arrested and their tents swept into the dumpster.

i was asking one of the occupy supporters yesterday what exact and specific goals they wanted to accomplish were and they gave me the usual "things need to change" speech. I said "well, that still doesn't answer my question. what do you want to be done, specifically? What laws need to change/be created, etc.?" His response was "I don't know, that's what politicians are there for, they should make up a solution." Seems a little ironic. haha

There are looney toons on both sides of the political spectrum. The tea baggers tend to be the right wing nutjobs and the OWS people tend to be the left wing nutjobs.

I heard some of them the other day who actually agreed that one of the demands should be "Jobs for everyone." Now, it's difficult to disagree with that. Certainly everyone from all over the political spectrum would be in favor of anyone who wants to do honest work being able to do honest work. The problem is the demand is so incredibly vague. Where do these jobs come from? Who is going to pay for them? Does a part time job count? Does a full time job at minimum wage with no benefits count? No idea.

I think this about sums up the debate between Republicans & Democrats regarding OWS.

Adam Smith? The Foolish Admiration of Wealth (Harper's Magazine)

This disposition to admire, and almost to worship, the rich and the powerful, and to despise, or, at least, to neglect persons of poor and mean condition, though necessary both to establish and to maintain the distinction of ranks and the order of society, is, at the same time, the great and most universal cause of the corruption of our moral sentiments. That wealth and greatness are often regarded with the respect and admiration which are due only to wisdom and virtue; and that the contempt, of which vice and folly are the only proper objects, is often most unjustly bestowed upon poverty and weakness, has been the complaint of moralists in all ages.
