Help Odd "Books" application

Hi,

Upgrade my UK i9100 S2 with the official German JB ROM. Fed up waiting for the UK ROM.

Noticed that there is a "Books" application, not to be confused with the "Play Books" application, that wants to update but is not from Play Store.

Can't uninstall it as it seems to be part of JB.

Anyone any idea if this is a genuine JB application? Currently all the book titles are in Russian!

Hello and welcome to Android Forums mayburyds! :)

You mention that you flashed the, "official German JB ROM", to your phone but you do not say which one as there are presently 6 different JB versions that have been released for Germany and some of these are for network providers and carry their, "bloatware". This is add-on's to the stock release that carriers add to the firmware. Do you have the details of the firmware you flashed?

Thanks for the reply.

The version I used was I9100XWLSE_I9100OXELS6_MBC.

I now think that this is a Russian version, hence the Russian "Books" application. The application is bookportal_71.

Now changed to I9100XWLSS_I9100OXXLS9_DNF.
