Odd crashing of Contacts app

ok, I have a LG Optimus F3 with T-Mobile.
In the contacts, the very first entry is ME which is auto generated when you first open the Google+ app and sign in.

BUT, when i go to open this contact, which has my Google+ photo, name and contact info, it will cause the contacts to crash? No idea on why?
I have did tons of troubleshooting to try and fix this but to no avail...

I have deleted the entry, cleared the Google+ cache and database then re-signed in which will re-populate the ME contact card but when i press it to open it will crash again.
Sorry but Contacts has stopped working, is the error message.
Every thing else is working normally and no other issues??
Very frustrating and at this point just leaving the entry deleted and when i open contacts it is the option there to Setup my profile which i can but it will not be linked to my Google+ like i want and is suppose to be?

Anyone heard of this or have any further way to try and fix..

Well, it seems as if it was an issue with Google/Google+ and not anything with my device hardware or software, as it is now working. After i spoke with a Google help rep about this, other users were experiencing this problem, as well but it has now been fixed.
 
I was having odd crashes too. Now my contacts are gone and won't sync. I figured it's an issue on Google's end, but it's been a few days now. I may try to reset my phone to factory settings.
 
I am getting the "Contacts has stopped" error crash also. This is on an LG Optimus F3 also. Ting (Spring MVNO). Android version 4.1.2. Not rooted. I did factory reset and get same error. This makes the phone dialer unusable. The workaround that I read in another forum was to install "contacts +" from the app store and use this to make calls.

I have read others are having similar errors with contacts crashing on other phones so do not think this is a LG Optimus F3 specific problem.

Any help / suggestions from others would be most appreciated.
