Root Odd sd card behaviour

Past few days have had some issues with sd card not mounting in android after re-booting phone. Mounts/unmounts ok in recovery, mounts ok as usb storage in recovery, have re-formatted card in Gparted, have powered phone off to take card out in case it wasn't seated properly, have checked fat32 file system but no errors (Win and Gparted) - to no avail, problem still persists every so often.

Any thoughts or is the card just on its way out (sandisk 16GB class 4, only 18 months old) for some reason?

If i look to get a new card is a 32GB class 10 the way to go? Still going to have Desire until Sept, but have seen a few posts here and there about lags/skips playing media from class 10 poorer random read/write access.

I has this issue with my sd (the one that came with the phone)
It was all random, bugged me a lot when I went to use the camera.

As far as I'm aware, there is no fix with the exception of a new SD card.

Oh btw, a class 10 card will only operate at class 6 (I think) due to possible hardware limitations.

Will see if it continues, longer I wait cheaper cards get anyway.
