Help Odd sms problem on thunderbolt

My thunderbolt has stopped receiving text messages. It happened 2 days ago when I flew into D.C from Oregon. I can reboot my phone and I will receive sms for around an hour before it stops again, although it still allows me to send messages with no problems even after the hour has passed. I've had this phone since March and has never occurred and it is rooted running stock gingerbread. I've flashed a couple of other roms today with complete wipes and still after an hour the sms stops receiving. I've been testing it with my sons droidX which btw is receiving sms just fine. Mine was doing the same thing the other day. It seems to be working better now. I also noticed that while running liquid 3.0 I was getting random texts from "vzwnmn" that was just a number, like 1,2,5, etc. Ain't no telling what was going on.
