Odd SMS problem: recipients getting random characters

I recently got a Captivate and I'm having an odd problem with some SMS messages. Some people I send text messages to get random characters instead of the message I sent. It has only happened to two people so far, but consistently happens to those two when I text them. The recipients have different phones also, so I don't think it is their phone.

I tried using the regular Android keyboard (thinking it might be swype) but that still doesn't fix it.

Is anyone else getting this problem with their Captivate?

My captivate does the same thing, it is so annoying!! I have called At&t and Samsung and they don't have an answer, they told me to do a factory reset, I haven't done that yet. I was wondering if it could be a unicode issue????? I wish someone could help us! I even have problems after updating to Froyo
