Just finished the update. Quadrant benchmark - 549 yesterday, 1146 now. :)

Weather widget is still broken though.

No drama in update - unbranded CPW phone on O2 UK.

Guys - I have an unbranded Desire but it's rooted. I'm downloading the Froyo update right now, but will I be able to install it? And if I can't install it, should I cancel the download?

hey guys could you help me. my brother gone back from the screen which offered update to clean some memory and now when he goes to update it says your phone is up to date? what can he do to get an update again? (tried restarting doesn;t help)
thanx

I have update mine too..

Everything's ok but camera is not working!!Cannot run the app!!:eek:

Anyone experiencing the same problem???

Swype no longer works on a Desire with Froyo. Guess it was 2.1 only. :(

Just saw this on the Swype FAQ:

I just received an update to Android 2.2 (also known as FroYo) and now my Swype beta doesn't work.
Reinstalling should resolve this for you. Follow the instructions here and uninstall Swype and the SwypeInstaller then install again. If you need the install email sent again see the 2nd FAQ above.

Quadrant results, forgot to benchmark prior to the update.

Another video test. (Outdoors this time).

YouTube - HTC Desire

How do you install an app to SD card? Mine automatically installs to phone with no prompt to ask?

Go to the applications list, click on the app you want to move, then click on "move to SD card." If that button is greyed out then the app doesn't support being installed to SD.

It's possible that HTC have taken the update down for now due to bandwidth issues.

Not saying that is what has happened, but they did say that they were going to release it in stages..

i dnt see a massive change... ive moved some files over to my sd card and had a look at the 720p video which is cool but not sure what else im meant to be looking for?

i expected a bit of a different look from wat id been hearing/seeing in the last few weeks...

can someone please summarize wats new?

Just had it arrive on my non-network-branded phone from Three UK. Nice fast download over WiFi, only took about a minute.

It is very easy, but there are a couple of moments where it just seems to stop and you get the "uh-oh, have I just bricked my mobile?" feeling. Not a serious gripe - it is nice to see a timely upgrade by HTC. But I imagine it would spook a few people, so I've noted the stages mine seemed to go through:

Install chugged along showing a progress bar which stuck for a while at 100% (in that slightly alarming way that happens ;) ). Then screen went briefly blank, then showed update icon (two green arrows pointing clockwise). After a while it rebooted twice before the HTC 'quietly brilliant' chime where again it stuck for a while. Then there is a dialogue box to click on followed by a percentage progress screen.

Afterwards it wasn't getting a mobile signal, but a reboot fixed that.

Quadrant results for me

Before - 482
After - 1162

Looks like the compose sms page has been updated, and I like the new manage applications

As anybody had any niggley faults

- Immediately after installation the phone showed that my WiFi signal was weak even though I was able to browse fine and at full speed. A restart fixed this and the signal shown is more accurate now.
- Friendstream seems to fail when I first tap refresh, but works the second time. No biggie.
