I have update no lie I no how much everyone wants this I'm from UK and have unlocked desire so get checking now I'm so excited its a 90 mb file I will let you all no when finish yayayayay :) :) :) I'm so happy
 
Just got my update notice. D/l now. Based in Canada with an unbranded Desire.
Install just upstarted :) .
F1 about to start - priority changing for a few mins .lol report back in a bit
 
I also got the update message in Estonia. Before I update I have a question though: How big is the chance that the phone will be unrootable after the update? I'd like to install a gingerbread ROM when it comes out and I doubt HTC will officially update the Desire with it.

Personally I think that people at XDA will make it rootable within a week, so don't worry!
 
And now I have it. A question to people who are running it now. What are the backup/ restore options did you do the restore and did it double up in anything?

It makes back up automatically if you ticked the box in the Settings.
