I've been using an iPhone 4 for three years now and want to jump ship and get an Android phone. I absolutely love how the HTC One looks and I'm impressed by its specs. I plan to get the silver one.

But I'm really hesitant about the whole purple tint camera issue. I don't want to spend all that money on a phone with a defective camera and go through all the hassle of arguing with a service center to repair/replace my phone (the HTC service centers here in the Philippines don't really have a good reputation). How widespread is the purple tint issue? Is it very likely that the unit I'll buy will have this purple tint issue?

Test it in the store before you take it home.

I got my HTC One about a month ago and love it. It's from AT&T. I had the HTC Vivid and was debating if I wanted the One or to wait and see how long till the new flagship phone from HTC was available. When my Vivid suddenly vanished the One suddenly became the phone to get.

I have had my Sprint HTC One since the week of launch. I have had absolutely no problem with anything.

The camera also works great! I have never had any problems with it, and have actually taken some great pictures.

This HTC One is the best phone I have had so far.

My 2 year work upgrade is finally here. The s4 has some appeal, but "there can be only One" :)
And it shows up this week! Been combing these threads to get ready.

Trust me, you will be sorely disappointed with the s4. My wife, brother, two cousins, mother in-law and uncle have the s3 and one cousin has the s4. My brother is on his third s3 and needs to replace his current one because the screen cracked (literally for no reason) the other three were build issues, headphone jack messed up, Bluetooth crapping out. My uncle recently admitted that he is no longer a fan of Samsung because in order to access the internal memory from a computer he needed drivers, not a huge issue until you try to access the internal memory from a laptop with no internet or data...and no drivers. My cousins all have battery life issues and glitchy phones as well My wife's and mother in-law's s3 are both very glitchy and often drop calls. Add to that the limited internal memory you are left with after all the bloat/gimmickware on the s4 and you have very little room for games. In short, I think one cousin will buy another Samsung, and my mother in-law doesn't care, the other 5 people will not be getting a Samsung Phone next time because of their experiences with them.

I agree the HTC One has been the best phone I've ever owned and I had 3 EVO's prior to that so yes I am a big HTC fan. Never had a Samsung but have friends who have the S3 and my 2nd choice would be the S4 if I had to choose. I'm not a big fan of the Note and the size and I know an HTC One Max just came out but now there is a rumor about a new HTC One next year codename M8. But I haven't had any problems with this phone at all until recently after the update I keep getting an app store error message pop up. But I love this phone!

Thanks guys. I've owned two htc phones in the winmo days and that had a lot to do with my choice. I've had 2 samsung phones as well, a win 7 and android. There are advantages to both brands, but looking forward to the One

After a week with it I love it. Fast, powerful. The case and finish are exquisite and its nice to have something that's not iPhone pedestrian. It really is something special all the way around.

Looking forward to an AT&T simless google wallet for tap and pay next month

I have the Blue HTC ONE and love it.
It is a big learning curve not having an SD card.
I have no purple tint in my camera at all.

Hey guys.

I'm thinking of getting a 2nd hand HTC One. Problem is, i'm a little worried that i might get the purple tint issue with the camera over time once i buy it.

I need to know how many are really affected by this issue that i don't think HTC has any answers right now?

It'd be better if i had a checklist of what to double-check before i make my purchase? ie. heating the phone up real good and check the camera(purple tint issue)

Much thanks.

I've never had a problem with my camera, I got my One on pre-release.

I took this last night in a pretty dark room and no flash..

Read the camera thread. there were a couple of people who had this issue. it has not been as widespread as you think, at least not on this forum.

the phone is ready for primetime. i had a launch day one and had zero issues with it. i kept it stock and non rooted for trouble free and worry free service.

Waiting for my HTC One. Can't wait for it to arrive. Gave my DNA to my baby sister for Christmas.

Does it live up to the hype? :D

I bought myself Silver HTC One when it was released. I had HTC One X which I have to my girlfriend, and after a couple of weeks it died. I've sent it to HTC UK to fix it and they couldn't fix it for about 2 weeks, so they sent me another HTC ONE in black for free, so now I have both black and silver :D I was really surprised of how nicely they treat their customers.

Any tips on what to do as soon as I crack this bad boy open?

I had a ReZound that died a couple days ago...went back to my Incredible.
Just switched plans with Big V and picked up the One.
Verizon Loyalty Plan - $60, saving me 30 a month
HTC One with Bundle (lighted car charger, Otterbox Defender, display protector) $169.98
CSR couldn't do much more than that so I called back and spoke with a manager...
He included free overnight shipping and waived the $30 activation fee.
I've bought after market chargers and cases and haven't been happy with anything so i picked up the package deal.

Hello all. I used to have a Galaxy Note 3, but I have sold it because I thought it was too big. I'm looking at getting a new phone and considering the HTC One. The specs are not as good as the Note 3 ofcourse, but I was wondering:

1. What are your overall impressions? Do you missing SD card option?

2. Is KitKat available for this phone? How do I get it for At&T service?

3. Or, should I wait a month and get the Galaxy S5?

1- Overall solid construction. Only gripe is the purple camera in low light.. Not really missing the SD card. I manage my space well and the included storage is more than enough though having the option for an SD card would be nice. I am on Sprint and love the fact that it's a world phone since I travel a lot.

2. Yes, android 4.4 is available for this phone, and is an included download that you complete by running an update on the phone.

3. Can't really advise you on that, but I like the solid feel of this phone. The Galaxy always felt like it was ready to break in my hand... The tactile sensation of this device is what sold me!

This is just my opinion only but I've had the One for about 6mos now after having the Galaxy II for two years and so far I have not been that happy with this phone. I have not had any issues as far as internal problems but more the layout, beats audio being overrated, and my phone book.

hi guys
Is the 2013 HTC One still worth it? (Buying around December 2014- January 2015. Another option is the LG G2, which retails for 1800 INS here in Israel. I can get the One from Ebay which with Taxes and Shipping will be about 1400. By the way 1 USD is About 3.5- 4 NIS. Also- is Ebay a good way to buy a phone?

that choice is yours to make.

the htc one is an excellent phone. it was the flagship. its discontinued so you would be getting a used device unless someone has new old stock which would be rare.

ebay is a great place to get a handset. check the sellers feedback and history and see how legit they are. check/verify the warranty.
