Root OFFICIAL dl09 Rooting Thread (without flashing)

Please post what has worked for you!

This thread is for sharing methods that have worked for you for rooting your recently OTA updated dl09.

It seems that the old methods have worked for some, but I have doubts that they actually did work and instead, just have some appearances of it.

I am awaiting a response from another member that said that the "one click" worked for him, to find out what method/program exactly he is referring to.


Everyone please confirm that there method did indeed root and that they DO have access to the root folder in a file explorer before posting your method in here.

lol, ok, I don't know if you didn't read through the title or the first post on here, but what I was looking for and I believe a huge majority of the people on here are looking for a method of rooting where we DON'T have to FLASH a new ROM.

I really appreciate you taking the time to help, and if that is the only possible way to do it, then we will probably discover that here in this forum fairly soon.

So thank you, but if you know of a way of ROOTING WITHOUT FLASHING, I would really appreciate it.

I would like for you to point out where in the post linked that said "flash a rom"
 
Apparently I'm wrong, but to my understanding Odin3 v1.3.exe was a program specifically for pushing roms and CWMRecovery_DJ05_DL09.tar.md5 was a program for roms or more or less a "lite" form of a rom.

So my apologies if I am indeed incorrect, but I guess I should reword the original guidelines to be methods that don't require Odin. Meaning, methods that are "one click" or apps to download to use on the phone, cmd line or terminal methods, or any other methods that basically hack the phone from within the phone.

So if someone can correct me and explain what that method that davidnmegan6907 pointed to is actually doing to the phone, I would really appreciate it.
 
I really wasn't trying to be an ass about it but you are incorrect in wording. Odin is more for pushing files not made for flashing roms. The part of odin is to push the clockwork so you can achieve root and flash the maintence files through clockwork. From this you have root and upgrade. Then you also have options to do whatever you want with your phone or just leave it there and be happy :)
 
Some people have been successful using the old one click method....some with adb....z4root doesn't seem to working that much....i think its helped people remove superuser but that's about it
 
Can someone please post a link to a how to guide on the one click method? I've found several different "one click" methods and they are all different, so I don't want to brick my phone by using an old bunk one.

So please post a link to the one that everyone has been referring to.

Heres the easy root ONE CLICK Fascinate root method.


* Dirrk's EZ Root v0.2 (Sebastien Krahmers Exploit) *


-First download the Root files here (thanks rlivin):

-Make sure you have the drivers installed for SF on your computer


* Turn On USB Debugging on your SF
* Check usb port, cable and phone

* Then run the application from the downloaded files (it's the batch file)
-"START_ROOT.bat"


And, TA DAAAA!

yeah this seems to work for some...but not most from what im reading in other threads/forums
 
Here is the tip for getting the DL09 one click root to work (thanks Medionis):



If using one click method please note the following as it worked for my phone.

edit the start_root.bat

modify the line: call PMSLEEP 60

to: call PMSLEEP 100

Also when the phone reboots during the first step unplug it wait until android boots back up then plug your usb back in so that you can force the ability to mount the sdcard.

What was happening in my case was the batch file was calling the pmsleep.bat file to quickly before my phone was totally booted up.

Hope this helps for those having problems.
 
Completed all steps above and phone is rooted. Thanks be to all those who share their knowledge with us newbies.

I do have one problem though. My mac running 10.4.11 will not recognize the sd card anymore when I mount it. It wants me to reformat it (a bad thing). Any ideas?
 
Just rooted my OTA DL09 via ADB on Linux and rage.bin. No issues at all, and rage.bin completed much faster with DL09 (~30 sec) versus DI01 (~15 min).
