The way I see it is,if you people are tired of reading threads about, " Well I talked to Verizon and HTC about 2.1" , stop reading them ! I mean , WTF,no one has a gun to your head forcing you to read all the threads at this forum.

Personally , tired of playing the waiting game and I'm going to install "The Leak" !

Have an upgrade available and could go out and purchase the Incredible today, but my Eris is only 6 months old and I'll be damned if Verizon will force me to purchase a new phone with 2.1 , when the one I have, should be running 2.1 by now !

Again , if your sick and tired of reading threads about 2.1..............stop reading them !!!

Don't worry so much about wasted space. In the digital world, it's a lot like water. It's a renewable resource that's practically free! :)

(And in our case, the expenses are generously paid for us (Thank you!)).

I agree with what I think the intent of your post is, but these are not threads about "well I talked to Verizon and HTC about 2.1", they are posts inside another thread about 2.1, so reading them in a post about something else is unavoidable.

The point myself and a lot of other are trying to get across is that we have heard all the stories about visiting stores and calling customer service for both companies and the information that comes from those calls and visits is inaccurate or even fabricated and ever changing.

Again, I agree with part of what you said that you should move on if the topic of a thread is not something you care for but from my point of view, reporting back on what a CSR from these companies told you is fruitless. They just don't know anything.

I dont have any of the leaks or know anyone personally who has it on there Eris. I can only speak for my own experience with 1.5 with Sense and that is primarily the reason why I keep going through these forums hoping to get news on the 2.1 update.

I am hoping it is going to be a significant difference from what it is now. Lag is my main frustration with the current 1.5. I got the Eris with a 1 yr contract this past January paying about double the 2 yr subsidized price but I knew there were going to be plenty of better phones coming to market so I only have about 6 months left but it would be nice if that 6 months would be a more enjoyable experience then these past 5 months.

Dont remember her name ... but she heard my son say "Go Twins" and thought he said "Go Pens", she mentioned that she was a few miles north of Pittsburgh.

I wonder if there is a way to find out who you spoke to last.

I agree, Go Pens! And I'm not anywhere near Pittsburgh.

Now, has any one tried the blueberry pomegranate green tea? It's really good.

What brand? I want to try it!

People are talking about end of life on the Eris... I know VZW is still selling it pretty hardcore. My former employer is converting all their Alltel smartphones to either moto droids or droid eris phones. I haven't heard if they are switching to the Imagine, but I know they have still been issuing Eris'. I'm not going to whine about "when is my OTA update".. cause my phone works great... but it would be nice if they'd tell us if it's going to happen.

It's not gonna affect us. If you need to make a claim on your phone, they'll give you one of the many refurbished units they have sitting in a warehouse gathering dust. When you brick your phone, it isn't done for good. It goes back to the factory and they revive it there with their magic. If it's a hardware issue on the phone, they'll fix that too and make that a refurbished unit as well.

What's funny is that as the price of the Eris goes down, the cost to get a refurbished unit remains the same through insurance. What is it, $80?

I could care less about all the features other than VPN. However I really really need the myfi that root allows so I can turn this thing into a hotspot. I'm at a point where I need mobile data but don't want to shell out any more sice my bill is already 200. Wish there was a rollback to 1.5 so I could root and install that. Other than that I wouldn't care so much.

Mobile data? On other devices like your laptop? Get a tethering app. It's not a hotspot, but you can share the mobile 3G with a laptop while on the go.

in all honesty, if you want the "phone" part of your phone to function as it should, no questions asked, stick with 1.5

i had no idea about the audio bug before I installed the 2.1 leak and have regretted installing it ever since

i can't even begin to count how many calls were dropped due to the audio bug, and how many times I have had to reset my phone thanks to that dang bug

yeah it is nice having a smartphone with all the cool ins and outs, but if the phone part isnt actually working then what is the point....

blue... if I were you, do not upgrade to 1.5

I really wish someone would have been this persistent with me about not upgrading to a leaked version
I guess now you know how all those AT&T customers feel :)

$90 through Asurion and $50 Through my moms home owners insurance

The full retail price remains $470. That's your choice with insurance a few months into a contract - insurance with an $80 deductible (actually, I think that it's $90) or full retail price for a replacement, right? It's not Verizon's subsidized price - you are still paying the subsidy for the broken phone within your contract.

I do have the paid version of pdanet and works great. just want to be able to use an ipad and ipod touch in the car (family road trips).

Yesterday a Verizon rep told me that the official OTA update for HTC Eris will start May 15, by the end of the month everyone should have it. Wait and see....

Everyone has been "told" something different! So, this posting is no different...
