Who knows if they even know, one has to wonder about dogs that bark too much.
I live in Kansas City and know a few guys who have worked at Sprint for 10+ years. The Evo will release in June based on everything that they know and have been told. IMO Sprint needs to get out ahead of the "iPhone buzz" and release in May to escape June 7 (Next Gen iPhone announcement).
On another note, April 12th Sprint had a "4G Event" on their World Headquarters Campus in Overland Park, KS that one of my friends invited me to, where we actually got to see/play with the Evo. It's a really neat device and I pulled out my iPhone to do a size comparison and heard a GASP from one of the Sprint employees (it really was kind of funny). I've been waiting 2 years for Sprint to launch a device that could compete with the iPhone, and I think they finally have (cause I would LOVE to get their employee plan from one of my friends to save a ton of $$). One thing I found that could be a bit awkward is the size...but I put it in my dress-pants pocket and it felt fine. It's a very nice looking device and the build quality was top-notch.
Here's my question to the Forum -- The one thing I really enjoy about my iPhone is the ability to sync ALL of my pictures (3,000) to my iPhone. I tried the Palm Pre last summer and it could hold them no problem, but rendering the thumbnails and scrolling through the entire library was absolutely horrid. Does anyone know how the Nexus One, or even the Incredible can render pics (and LOTS of them)? The Evo should render them similarly and am just curious if someone has any first-hand knowledge on this issue (I already know about Double Twist, etc for the actual syncing part).

I know with Android that you can create folders, which might help organize, but I'm not certain that is the total answer. I have to agree with mrk that the faster processor should make a big difference.

Welcome to the forum kcguy. I lived in Overland Park for a couple of years. Now I live in icky Ohio. My first phone was a motorola..flip phone, than the blackjack 2 both on at&t. I was disappointed with at&t because they don't have 3g coverage here where I live and they don't have coveage in the town I work. So I switched to Sprint. I am very happy with sprint. My first phone was the Instinct, than I got the pre..happier with the pre..I think I will be blown away by the evo. I will be very happy when I get the evo.

Hey guys.
I never thought i would say this a few months ago, honest and God i did not, but i am actually debating on finsing a new forum to post info. What is going on here is total BS. Some of you (cough Bill) have taken things i have said in the past and construed them so the points which you make today, on a complete and utter false logical base, seem more true. I specifically said the date in April was circled on a calendar. I went on to SPECUALTE that it was the media blitz which it turns out was pushed back a month later. That circle, was indeed something, the start of the sprint 30 guarentee. Did something major happen? YESSS. Is it what we all would have liked inlcuding me? NOOOO I want my Evo just as bad as all of you!
SP and I have clearly stated that the Evo will not be officially released on the 22nd of May. I'm not saying to follow us like the bible or the Quran. But jeese you can't even explain where you are getting the date from except where you think is best fitting. Unfortunetly there is alot more that goes into the thought process when desciding a launch date than that....
Now funny enough ajac sent me a personal message yest saying he saw an Evo with 2.2!!! baahahahaha then he goes on to bash me again! This is down right hilarious. Guys the phone will be released with 2.1. Don;t listen to ajac, clearly if he said, and i quote "i saw 2.2 with my own eyes" he is an out right fraud. he also said the phone will only come with 1gb internal memory. I have the e-mails if he wants to debate this. That is also false. There will be equal or more mem than the incredible has.
The phone will also come with talk and surf capabilites, with no charge for 4G, and unlimited 4G usage when you us the phone as a mobile hotspot for a fee of around $15.
Like i have said before and SP has also touched upon, ALL DATES ARE TENTATIVE!!! I am lucky enough to have a close friend as an insider who tells me things like it is. Not always what i want to hear and tell you all. But hey, the phone is going to be released in June. If you want it in May, please feel free to send Sprint an e-mail staing you want a phone that is not ready and can't function to its full ability yet. Theres a real smart move...
If you have a problem with SP and I, and say we are fakes, then please by all means just use google and screw the forum. That won;t get you very far but hey be my guest and be left in the dark with RUMORS.
I really don;t want to leave because soo many of you have been great and shown me awesome support, but heck, i don;t know if its some of your nerves, in-patientness, or low self confidence every time you have been doubting me lately.

You know on multiple occations I've said how much i love you all, and i do. So please, enough of this i hope your wrong and I'm not listening to you this time BS, because then you just don;t hurt me but your going to hurt yourself when your magical sky fallen dates tomultuously become a big bust.
Evo's gonna be fresh, I can't wait to get mine. I agree that it would be awesome to have a new thread after release so we can all talk about our experiences, I would be lost without you guys =]]]

They are going to give the contest winner a buggy and limit function phone. Ok. Got it.
Remember, it is just as easy to load an os on to 100,000 phones then 10. Any os can be installed in just a few mins. In fact, up to a 1,000 at a time. So 100,000 phones would take what, 200 mins? And they are going to launch it head to head with iphone.
Ok, I hope they are betting the farm on this. Because if they use anymore money then a normal launch, they are throwing money down the drain.

The truth is, the EVO will be launched in june. Stay tuned here for information. You will not find it one normal media outlets. They will be flooded with iphone/apple news. We need to make sure that people know when it is out.

I am sorry. You said it will be ready in June.
You said this many, many, many times.
So, if it is not ready, it is not ready. Got that. So the contest winners will not receiving fully ready phones.
If the phone is ready for the contest winners, then it should be ready to ship 3 days later.
If it is not ready, it is not ready.
Sorry, you can not have it both ways.
You can not say it will not be ready for everyone. But ready for 10 people.
That is not how mass produced products work.

What exactly about this thread is official?
Do you see Dan Hesse because I don't. The word official in regards to this thread means that on this domain all the speculation will be posted here as a form of compiling all the sources together. Nothing comes from Sprint directly, if it did we wouldn't need a media event.
I have taken everything you said serous. But you need to make your mind up.
BTW...I have been searching and can't find posts discussing Sprint employees being blocked from vacation in early June? I Googled it and found a lot of mention about AT&T blocking vacation during June for the new iPhone. So...I may have inadvertently perpetuated a false idea. Perhaps someone can verify if any vacation blocks have been made for Sprint employees. Oh....and just a warning....a lot of the searches bring you back to my posts. So I don't know if I mistook AT&Ts news for Sprints news...but could have sworn Sprint told it's employees not to take off during a certain period of time for the EVO 4G release?
i posted a while back that my local (chicago) store manager confirmed they have a vacation black out around june 6.
yup my local store says thier blacked out from late may to mid june... training and selling their hot item
