I just ordered my EVO from a RS yesterday. I was the third one to sign up. I went in expecting to be 20-30th on the list. Sprint needs to pick it up.

The RS lady said they would give me a call a week prior to my pick up date. I laughed and told her that wouldn't be necesary since there would be no way I would forget this thing.

I was 14th when I signed up the day after the big NYC party (at Best Buy). Guess it all depends on your area.
 
hey all, new here, its been fun lurking in the shadows, just wanted to share, called my local bb where i was first to pure order the 13th, talked to a guy who has always seemed more with it then his cohorts anyways he said that they have a huge pile of pre orders and today his "big wig guy" said that only units to be sold on june 4th will be pre orders so no need for appointments and that due to the huge amount of pre orders there is some rumblings higher up discussing stooping pre orders
 
This is silly but I have the Touch Pro 2 and I don't use the regular big grey clock I got some cab file of a clear dee through clock that I like better so I can see more of my background. Will stuff like that be available for this phone? I am not into changing roms and stuff I always lef tthe stock rom on there but I added cab files to make bubbles a different color and font different and where it said Sprint at the top I put my name there. I had an all backgrounds tab so like my calendar wasn't black it was the same as my home wallpaper.

I just am unsure how Android will work. I just want to put regular apps on there cause I am sure something I put on my TP2 is what made it lag and made me had to hard reset it a few times. Right now with this cookies mod it's called I hit the msg button and it's slow. But anyway I don't care about the flipiing of the clock but it is neat and I am used to it. I would like it but what I do want to know is about the weather animation. Is it like my TP2 like when its raining will you see the widnshiled wiper? I just think that is so cute. LOL! I know I'm gonna like this so much better then my TP2. I have lots to learn I'm sure. And I am glad I found all these forums.

The first thing is a Windows Mobile only thing. My Sprint Hero and other 2.1 ROMs I've seen with Sense do not animate the clock. Weather, yes. Clock, no.

The second thing is really an Android thing, from what I've seen. My Hero has always only animated if I turn the phone one way and not the other. 1.5 and 2.1 both.

To make most changes you must root, you don't have to flash a new rom but u must root the device
 
I was just looking through some websites and saw that the LG Ally is now up for pre-order on VZW. Does anyone else think that Sprint might be missing the boat by not allowing pre-orders through them directly? I would think that the more people they could get locked in to an Evo, the better. Provide as many avenues as possible to the consumer to maximize your product placement.

I would suggest to anyone that does check this out, do not follow the advice of those in that thread. They are actively adivising people to commit fraud. I understand the lure of 25% off, but is that really enough incentive to compromise your ethics?

Just call a sprint rep they will tell you if you are eligible for any. When I upgraded my wife's phone to the moment last week, I had to call so I asked if she got one with her company, she did and the rep added it on w/out needing any kind of validation that she did work there.

I agree.. I think they lose alot of sales by not allowing pre-orders through their website.. :)

Ok thanks, Is it hard to do? Guess I'll wait till I get the phone and see what all I want to do but for now I'll just put apps on it and leave it be I guess. I need to get familiarized with the phone and Android and set up my email and stuff and do my bookmarks before I started getting into other stuff. I have a yahoo email am I going to be able to put it on this phone? My co worker just got the Moment and I tried to help him add his yahoo and we couldn't get it to work. I googled how and pritned it out for him. He still has 1.5 and hasn't updated to 2.1 yet he just got the phone. But i know if it doesn't work under IMAP it said forward it to your pop3. BI just spoke to HTC asking about accessories for this phone and told her I want the car dock. Someone posted an HD2 one but they told me it wouldn't work to wait and get one specifically for this phone.
