Release date is unknown....but an advertising blitz is expected starting April 16. I think most people here expect something by the end of June...but there has been some talk of us being able to get this phone inside of a two month window that started a few days ago. It appears that Sprint would love to get this phone to market asap. WiMax, front facing cam...and video via 8mp cam...and all the other specs make this phone a true beast. And...because I know you lurk in the Incredible forum...as do I....i will tell you...it's good to see you here. Perhaps you are a bit more open minded than some other people. If you live in a 4G area....this is a very compelling choice! :)
 
Things have really gone down hill here with all this talk about the Pre and turds. I guess that's the way it is on slow news days, but tomorrow is another day and I hope things will improve.

I see that Jackson is offline, but I can tell he's a little irritated by the questioning. What you have to remember is he's a guy just like us that's interested in the EVO 4G. When he first came here, he said his inside source was on the Sprint Development team. I don't know how much information you can really expect from his source, after all, Sprint has been pretty tight-lipped about everything. We need to give the guy a break. Jackson never said he worked for sprint and a lot of his answers are ballpark figures, not confirmed answers. I know you want to know everything right now, but there's no way for him to confirm every little detail.

I like having Jackson here because he generates a lot of excitement when he's around, so I hope we don't chase him off like the other people did in the Sprint forum. I believe him when he says Sprint in going to start their TV ads and Internet promotion on April 16th. That's the day he said we'd learn about the specs on the released version and we might learn the release date. That's next week Friday, so we don't have too long to wait.

In the meantime, if we could try to talk about the EVO and at least make an attempt to stay focused, it would be great.
 
I agree Bill, Jackson is not a prophet. He is just relaying info. And in the end it really doesn't matter whether he is right or wrong with his info, it will not change the Evo. It will arrive when it arrives and will be what it will be no matter what anyone here says. sooooo anybody noticed sprints site update.

Agreed! I constantly think of video chatting with some friends while I'm at the beach and they're home stuck on their computers :p

When you post (not fast reply but the advanced feature) go down to where it says additional options and make sure the show signature option is enabled. I think I saw yours though. I don't see an avatar however, maybe the one you tried to upload was too big?

Edit: @ bill: I noticed that after your first post on a page your signature won't appear again until the next page of the thread.

I forget how it works, but maybe your have to look at preferences when you're in the User CP. Make sure Avatar is set for visible.

It could be. I hope not though because the battery wouldn't have much of a prayer against 4G, Snapdragon processor, and that huge screen IMO.

Haha, never even thought about video chatting with them from the beach...Send 720P videos, sure - but not live chatting. Regardless, I simply cannot wait!

Hey guys I just want to say what's up and that you now have another new member to your forum!! I'm currently on AT&T using a Touch Pro2 WM device and I'm switching over to Sprint as soon as the HTC EVO drops!! ;)

I've been reading/following this thread for a hot minute now and I'd like to contribute and be a part of this growing family!! This will be my first Android device and I'm very excited for many reasons which I'm sure I dont have to explain lol... I've always had WM devices all from HTC!! I like what HTC is about and how they always do amazing things!! I'm really happy to see Sprint making a come back and trying to make big things happen!! I'm sooo looking forward to what April 16th brings b/c, to be honest I'm sick and tired of all this Apple BS that's been in the news lately. ipad this iphone that (barf) lol... I do hope that Sprint releases the EVO a lot sooner and under cuts Apple b/c at the end of the day the iphones boring and will have nothing on the HTC EVO!!! They need to get of there high horses and stop acting like there the best at everything pssshhh:rolleyes: My friend's got the iphone and I'm so glad he's switching to Sprint w/me to get the EVO lol..

I know a thing or 2 about a thing or 2 when it comes to phones/gadgets!! So I'm no noobie when it comes to this stuff believe you me LOL... I look forward to adding and contributing to this topic and look for more great news and posts to come!!!

Man, I hadn't checked the thread the last 3 days or so and it took about 2 hours for me to read it all and catch up!

Anyway, I had a question for everyone. What kind of accessories do you think will come out for the EVO, and also, what accessories do you see yourself buying?

My friend has a droid with the dock and alarm app, and I gotta say, it's pretty nifty! I'd likely get something like that.

Also, have any of you read about the RCA WiFi charger? I wonder what the expected consumer release would be for that.

It would surely be appreciated by all the future EVO power users in this thread!
 
I will probably get a leather belt holster, a car dock for the maps, and I guess I will have to get a screen protector since it will not have the same screen coating as the hero.
 
Indeed Agent ViZZiATO :D I've never come across a community more dedicated and always scouring the wireless universe for any info they can find. With insiders and some good eyes here we break info quicker than most tech sites haha.

As for accessories Android 17 when I get my EVO 4G I'll probably get a silicone case, screen protector, car charger, and car dock to start out. I'll see what they have after that. I'll probably pick up a Bluetooth headset as well.

I've heard about that WiFi charger before, it sounds interesting but I just don't know if it'll be as effective as the good old plug and charge :p
