I know the EVO will have more functions that could burn battery more, but how is the battery life on the Hero? Just trying to get an idea if I should expect the same type of battery life that I currently get with my Touch Pro or better.

Thanks! I figured it were the same when looking at the pics. Issue is I bought the huge 3500mah battery and I'll need a new back. Not sure how long it'll take for them to come out with a new battery so I could just maybe buy the back. I don't wanna buy another whole battery. Looks like pimping out my Hero won't bite me so much when I get the evo.

it is ok..if u turn the data off when not using it, the battery is better but i keep two batteries with me at all time...one in the phone, one in my pocket and one at home charging.

In easy words the battery life is sucky if you use your phone a lot for music/video/internet. I'm a heavy phone user and I probably got like 7 hours tops out of my phone maybe less. It died on me a bunch before I upgraded to the 3500 mah battery which works flawlessly

get some spare batteries on ebay...it shouldnt be much now since this will be the 4th phone with that type of battery.

I still keep the original on me whenever I know I'll be using the phone a lot. I'd prefer to just get a bigger battery so i won't have to switch out though. It's just more convenient for me. Thanks though
 
I heard an interesting rumor from Dan today. It made sense to me after i really thought about it. I think HTC and Sprint are holding back on some of the details on the phone so apple can't go back and make there iPhone HD a better competitor. I mean HTC scored big after all the leaks that have happened with the iHD (i'm coining that btw). What would have benefitted them by giving out all the specs back in March of the phone if it wasnt coming out until June anyway? This way apple and other companies are still confused.

From what Dan told me today, 4G is a much, MUCH bigger deal than everyone is making it out to be. Some of those apps are mind blowing, they are capable of doing absolutely unreasonably awesome things!

Sounds like the battery life will be pretty much the same with the EVO as it currently is for my Touch Pro.

What are some of these apps that are you talking about? Can you give us some examples on some of the things they can do?

No.

There are eBay fees, bad sellers, long waits, etc. $35 isn't bad if $60 is the eBay average.
 
It's a trade in service for electronics.. u rate the quality and they give u a qoute and a pre paid shipping label.. u mail em your device if they agree with your assesment they mail u a check if not they offer u an adjusted price.. I've used them through best buy for best buy gift cards and also for straight checks..

At CTIA, Hesse said a lot of 4G apps are in development and there will be a lot of them. The ones he was focused on at the time were medical apps. One scenario he gave was an EMT video conferencing with the doctor in the ER so the hospital was better prepared for the patients arrival. He also said the EVO could become a medical instrument, but he didn't elaborate beyond saying the patient could cough into the phone and that could relay information.

The apps on this are anything but vanilla. The fb app is just as good as having a computer in front of you, and damn do those videos you can leave on a buddies wall are sick...

And youtube, is like triple chocolate fantasy, its made specifically for that phone, and in my opinion is better than the computer...

Let's not forget about the qik app either... Oh yeah and the hundreds that will be available in the market...

some interesting stuff that's being said . a lot of rumors and speculations but that's what makes it so sweet . in the end its great to be a sprint customer :-)
