Thanks to all you guys for keeping this thread alive!!!! I have found more info on this thread than anywhere else on the internets. =) Now all I have to do is Decide if I go pick up my Pre Ordered HTC Incredible tommorow.. Orrr go return my pre order and get my 50 bucks back and play the waiting game for the EVO!

BTW!!!

I just called my local Best Buy and asked about release dates.. I was told by the rep there that they are now talking about a May 15 release date.. Any word on this??

2 of the people whom have provided the most info on the thread, SuperSonical and Self Praise, have already typed several times that May is extremely unlikely.

So unless a credible article comes out from a very credible website, these May rumors need to die.

Obviously, all of us in this thread would think you should wait for the EVO

The Incredible is a good phone, but in most aspects, the EVO will be superior, not to mention Sprint's plans are significantly cheaper than Verizon's.

Sprint also offers employee discounts to many businesses and corporations, which could make your plan even cheaper.

Unfortunately this article barely touches on the full story and it does not eliminate Apple from continuing their attack on HTC. This is just MS taking HTCs side and supposedly licensing technology to HTC that assists in their defense against Apple.

I am still not completely clear on all the details, but this is still a concern. I do not believe it will impact the shipping of the Evo. Incredible is already shipping and my GFs Incredible arrives today.

I disagree and think the opposite. We're getting so little information we need to do a better job of filtering fact from fluff. At least IMO.

Most of the information/links in here have either been hit or miss, regardless of the source.

I easily take all information with a grain of salt, its no different than the two "inside" posters we have here....we all hope their information is 100% true, but things can easily be changed or read wrong when passed down.

What we all do know? Everyone wants an EVO...the general buzz around it is getting bigger by the day(With no real official information being released).

I just pre ordered the Verizon Incredible yesterday. My contract with Tmobile is up and I wanted to get a new phone/new carrier. Should I wait for the EVO?? Looks pretty badass. My prob is that my area does not have 4g =( Anyone have any clue on Price of the phone and price of the Plan?? Or even when and were they will release this info?

Even without 4G it is like an Incredible with a bigger screen and a front camera.

Phone will likely be around $199-249 for new customers with all the rebates and stuff.

Individual plans start at $69.99. This includes

• 450 weekday landline minutes
• free calls to cell phones
• free calls after 7pm
• free calls weekends
• unlimited data
• unlimited text
• unlimited turn-by-turn navigation

Check your coverage because if you are in Sprint coverage you can save a good deal of money every month. This alone makes an Evo a better deal than an Incredible.

Some caveats: Some rural areas have Verizon coverage and not Sprint. Sprint roams for free on Verizon towers so it's good to get you through a pinch when you may go outside of Sprint coverage but it's not a substitute for native coverage. First and foremost you want to check the coverage map to make sure you are covered. Coverage is more important than any handset spec or even a cheaper plan. Phones are no good if you have poor reception.

I say check for Sprint coverage and if it looks good, return the Incredible and get a nicer phone in June on a cheaper plan.

dylan if the phone isnt finished yet theres no way it will be ready for june release... how are they gonna mass produce over 500k handsets in 1 months time. ship them to the us then distro them to all the stores in the us. it wont happen im lucky if ic an get a dell order in 2 months. and thats only 500 laptops that arnt anything over the top. if they arnt made by now with software loaded we wont have them...

It is not really about a sense of humor. There are people on this forum that are considered "gay" so the use of that term would be considered inappropriate. We know you meant for Sprint to stop playing around and just release the phone. We are with you that Sprint needs to hurry up and RELEASE OUR EVO.

Let me try putting things another way, to offer a bit of perspective.

You show up to a random house party and start ripping on the Chicago Cubs. You think it's all in good fun... but then you find out, that the owner of said house is a die-hard Cubs Fan. You don't know the owner of the house... so really, you have no idea if he could care less about others making fun of his beloved team, or will take offense and toss you out.

My advice to you is to watch what you say, and when you show up in a new crowd, be wary of who you may be offending until you get to know the crowd better.

No problem. It's just kinda rude that's all. We try to be friendly here and using "gay" as an insult is kinda like implying gay people are bad or stupid or whatever.

Yes, I get that it has a different meaning nowadays but as a matter of civility, we try to avoid the playground insults and slurs and such. Too easy to be taken the wrong way and we don't want this forum turning into the Sprint forums with all kinds of trash talking and flame wars.

that's why you just release it to the established 4g markets first
