That seems to happen to me also!! I went to a sprint store, a radioshack and the sprint kiosk @ the mall and I seemed to more than all those people. It wasn't like they were withholding info they really didn't know shit. Maybe I was talking to the wrong people.. I live in overland park - where the damn HQ is you'd expect these guys would know something but they don't! I guess I will just have to wait till wednsday!

Man, search the coffee shops. There has to be at least one lazy sprint engineer. LOL

So I thought we had a couple of people in this thread that were going to this event on Wednesday. Do any of you remember? Someone was going to post there findings but I can't remember who.

I know of four different 4g areas that that reps have gotten the phones already.. Maybe soft launch in 4g areas first??

Or launch for all but 4g areas get a head start since 4g is active?
That's what I said like a billion posts ago. I think they might do a soft launch in 4G areas. That would be a good way to create some buzz huh?

That's interesting to know. I was wondering about this because SenseUI is an adaptation of what TouchFlo3D was before. Anytime my TF3D was acting up on my Touch Pro, I've just turned it off and used the OEM Windows Mobile Interface, which is boring and I don't like, but definitely more stable than TF3D (which I can't stand anymore).

You're right. TouchFlo3D was the predecessor of the Sense UI. However, one big difference was that you COULD turn TF3D off since its just a custom theme over winmo, and winmo is not open source where as Android is, so that is why Sense is more than just a complex theme that you can turn and off. It is extremely far embedded into the OS itself that the phone would become inoperable if the UI is to be removed.

Sorry, this isn't exactly on-topic, but I felt the need to add my pair o' pennies. Concerning Rebella's good grammer, I too appreciate it very much (I'm one of those crazy grammer and spelling "nazi's"). Thank you Rebella and all others who have at least a little pride in their english composition abilities.

Now for my 2 cents and I am not trying to cause a problem but I think deterring people from posting because they may not use what some except as proper grammar is a bit much don't you think.. Especially since this is suppose to be a community. How would you like it if I made a big deal about you spelling grammar wrong? so should we complain about your post. Its just a bit petty for a forum.

So a friend of mine that works at Radio Shack said his Sprint Rep said that Radio Shack wont be selling Evo's until August. Hmmm...I hope he's wrong.

sounds like your friend needs to leave the shack and move to best buy or sprint, so he/she can get you a good deal on one.. :D

Yeah I asked him if The Shack was getting them late or something. He didnt know. That's just what he was told.

Dont worry a good friend of mine works for BB Mobile. He got me my Hero for 75 bucks last year. I'll have one waiting for me when they arrive and a phone call to come pick it up.

*snicker*

Seriously though, we've got good info here and right now it's a lot of speculation. I haven't signed up on the other forum yet but if it's anything like the emails I still get from Mr. J. I would imagine it's more of the same conjecture.

Not saying dude doesn't know someone on the inside but I get the feeling that at this point a lot of the release date, pricing, and other info is privy to a crew of people in other positions than testers and retailers and we will just have to wait for now.

@eieio: That sucks (for me) that there have been test Evos around B-more since 2009 since I haven't seen any yet. I remember the MIDs and other devices that they used to test the original Wimax rollout but I never ran across any of those. Hopefully I will be doing my own tests a month from now on retail hardware.

edit: for what it's worth, a friend who works for Sprint was able to sort out my Premier account/upgrade issues but he did not have any hard release date info. Most of what they know is gleaned from forums like this.

I am fairly new here and have been reading and watching Videos on the EVO for a week now.. I was in 2 Sprint stores the other day and they acted clueless too. And then I called one of the stores the next day and he acted like he knew but wasn't allowed to talk about it. So I'm just waiting for the 12th and will see what happens. I can't wait for this phone. I was looking at cases all morning.

Where abouts in Kentucky? Tennessee here.

So...just so folks know the official page is here:
Sprint - HTC EVO? 4G

And on it are two things I've seen debated here today. First the circles are there on the buttons (possibly only when lit) and Second in the official specs a 1500 mAh battery.

If they could just answer the pricing/plan question I'd be happy.

As you can see, the phone in those pictures has a SILVER ear piece, also notice the CIRCLES around the buttons on the bottom. Maybe Jackson was wrong about the final version of the phone NOT shipping with the circles.

I think what Jackson was trying to say (I am interpreting, not speaking for him... Disclaimer - If I am wrong, please don't go after me...) was that those circles will only show up when the buttons are in use, as they will illuminate.

Can you see them if you look at it real close? Of course, but they're not that visible unless they're illuminated.

Agreed, this is what I am most interested in, as well. I'm wondering if their wording was specific or merely "data plans." That and release date would be greatly appreciated.

I guess you could be right, but then again look at this picture:

The circles look almost as bright as the little icons. Oh well no one is right or wrong until we get the phone in our hands or if there's an official mention of it. Also some people were saying they wouldn't want the phone to be shipped with the circles. IMO I think it looks better, looking at a Sprint Instinct, and comparing the 2, the circles look better rather than just the plain icons themselves. Kind of gives it a better design type of look. Anyways back to lurking lol. :p

I would disagree, saying that's because of the way the light is hitting the phone. Because the light is reflecting off the surface, you can tell they're there, but get them in normal room lighting, I think they'll be more difficult to see.

But as you said, no one is right, and I appreciate your civil reply. As you said, I don't give a flying -explicative- if comes with circles or not. If its smooth, fast, and does what I want it to, I'll be happy.

Note: That is from CTIA. It's rather old. I believe that Jackson was entirely incorrect (and he seemed to lack the capacity to even understand what we were trying to tell him regarding the subject...), but these pictures are proof of nothing.
