All of a sudden Android is riding high, Sprint is soon to launch the 1st true 4G phone...and even without 4G the EVO is about to be the highest spec'd phone on the market.

Good observation. I don't think it will matter though because the one that would kill the next iPhone would be if it doesn't have a faster processor. Even a new iPhone couldn't sell like hotcakes without that critical piece of hardware.

Could be that the teardown happened overseas because that's where the phones are being built.

iphones are built and assembled in china... @ least that is where foxconn is located.

Just thought I'd check that the 22nd was still the date you're speculating.

I think SP and Jackson left for the same type of reasons. They came on here to give some info, people got offended by their approach, others didn't. So the people that got "offended" had to put on their "internet ego" or "internet enforcer" suit and try to bully them.

Obviously it worked because it pushed them out, but I absolutely do not agree with how it happened.

btw, eieio, I actually do think the way that you're going at rebella was the same mannerism (from others) that pushed SP and Jackson away. Just my 2 cents.

I guess if we get the information 10 minutes before someone else, that is great, but I don't understand the Gestapo like interogation of people when they speculate or report something they have heard.

Hopefully we'll get some info tomorrow night, but who knows. Sprint doesn't have a great track record to go on and there is usually a reason for that. Until they earn the respect they desire, people are going to have a hard time taking them serious. If they are releasing the phone on the 6th of June or earlier, they have a lot of work cut out for themselves.

im not trying to start a debate but i just dont like when people discredit jackson for what he gave us...correct me if im wrong but he was one of the 1st or the 1st to give us the june 6th date.
 
So I came back here to give it another try but this is why I left this site and moved to the site where Jackson is. Someone post some great info and everyone just puts them down. Do you guys have info or proof that what they are saying is a lie?

idk if this is directed at me but my point was that the same thing might happen to rebella...she may have some good info but the people will kick her to the curb when they dont believe her.

Haha, that would be our game... and there is/was no lying going on. :) We never said whether we do or do not have one. This is called marketing.

We are currently working on a version with a tablet maker right now to release our game for some new hardware coming out. It would be a lot easier if their SDK did not reverse the orientation in the emulator, haha.

Who was the other joker? Because everything I ever speculated at I clearly said it was speculation. I never claimed it was "Information"

eieio, this is a rumors and speculation thread, not a fact thread. How do you suppose rebella prove the fact? by a letter from dan hesse? from the ceo of htc? if you don't like what she has to say, put her on your ignore list. this is EXACTLY the childish behavior that drove some of the older members away. Sure, Jackson always felt a need to be validated, OK, so what?

Why is this so hard to understand? don't like it? thats what the ignore list is for! This isn't an attack, but calm the f**k down man! take a chill pill or have a drink of 10! this is a freakin phone. there are worse things happening in the world right now and you're getting so bent outta shape over someone posting what they claim is true is freaking ridiculous! shit change, it happens. so should people post with a disclaimer saying shit might change at the last minute that they might not be aware of?

if you don't appreciate rebella's post, fine, others do, so please don't force your views because they are your views only. take a step back and relax for christ's sakes.
 
I think I would've preferred more internal storage. Not a fan of storing apps on mini cards.

It could be cool for loading different states from different cards though. Office, travel, entertainment, games...

Just seems like a step back... feels like floppy disk days.

I just want peeps to know as EVO's drop date gets nearer, nearer; things are going to reach a fever pitch. I would encourage those that doubt me to take look at the Incredible thread. Incredible thread was madness in April and it will be expected in this EVO thread will be the same in June.

I just want to take my hat off to Sprint. I think they gave us all the juicy nuggets they could until now. I don't think Sprint held back anything about the EVO w/o giving every competitor a warning flag "saying do this before our flagship phone drops" The VZW peeps were completely left in the dark for almost 3mos, before they got any info on the Incredible.
I'm just not seeing any spec's that Sprint released that does not dominate the mobile phone market right now. I know all companies evolved allowed me to give some of the things to expect before the big show. I hope at the show they display Vo4G, Hotspot x8, and 4G free w/unlimited data plan.
I know that we did some tweaks to the 4G software that will make it possible. I dropped Voice/Chat from 1500ms latency to 77ms latency by incorporating a similar process we use for hyper threading/quad pump technology on our processors. I don't know if anyone here knows, but with that kind of latency we all could play MMORPG game on EVO.

Mobile phone wise EVO is light years ahead. Yes, if game developers are smart and thinking ahead, they could easily make a MMORPG for 4G phone. I don’t feel it is out of the realm of playing a lite version of WOW. I know from personal experience it’s not that far fetched and very well be in the future.

Been trying to dig for that information myself but I haven't come across anything thus far. At this point, I would have to say that it will be unlikely.

I think our best bet is to follow live-blogs by some of the attendees.

Do you have a link to follow up on?! I thought I had read something like this too, I was just taken back by how even on my Wi-Fi the lag was so horrible that it couldn't be warranted a title such as lag... it was more like a "still" :D

I was hoping that today that one of the Android sites that got the invite would post something like "We're in NYC for the Evo event, follow us live" or something like Engadget usually does, but haven't found anything yet.
 
So i have been out since last Friday, I guess some people left, but can anyone give me a summary of events happening here? I know that today is the big party in NYC, any news on that?
 
Given how well Flash performs on Android (see nexus video) because of Froyo, this will be demo'ed next week from today in Google's I/O conference May 19th. So even though the EVO may not come with 2.2, it will be available as an OTA update soon after its released.

450% faster. Pretty impressive. But I'd like to warn people that is just a benchmark - actual usage speeds would vary greatly.


Also the more I think about it, I'm not so sure HTC devices would get google OTA updates for Android. Reason being is that it could potentially break the Sense UI on top of it. Hmm

you cant install apps on the sd card as of right now.
