I don't understand Sprint. They already have a HUGE mountain to climb with the iPhone and Verizon. Charging $10 for 4G (if true) and $29 for hotspot (Verizon is free?) just doesn't make sense. Do they seriously think they are going to get a lot of new customers?

yeah the more i think about it i'll be getting more no matter what at sprint, even with the $10 evo tax. the prob is the wife refuses to leave her iphone so i'll have to go it alone at sprint. how many minutes are in the 69.99 plan? 450? i think i reported how many minutes i have at att wrong before, thats what i used to have. 450 will be plenty more than half of what i get at at&t. again tho i fail to see how i'll be saving money but i'm married so i guess i have to deal with that :D

edit: not to mention i wont be dropping half my calls anymore lol

I've gotten a lot of questions on Twitter and via email tonight about the pricing for the just announced Sprint EVO 4G.

Totally but I think that if an argument is to be valid it has to be honest. By that argument you would have to compare this to the $99 sprint plan, not the $69 one.
 
I kinda envy/feel bad for the people in 4G areas, you get to experience the Evo to the full effect, but have to deal with a potential "Black Friday" crowd.
 
You know, I wouldn't mind an extra $10 as long as WiMax was readily available to their consumers, but a majority of people cannot even make use of WiMax!

They would be charging us for a (right-now) half-baked feature that the majority of people will hardly, if ever, get use of, now that is ludicrous.

If 4G was widely available and you were forced to pay an extra fee, it would still tick people off, but it would be much more reasonable.

A good portion of us probably won't even have WimaX for 6+ months, if even.
 
On a sidenote, it seems there was no announcement about 4G going live in NYC :( That was the big news I was looking forward to, pricing doesn't bother me nearly as much.
 
The only thing that sucks, is not knowing when Columbus Ohio will get 4g. I understand Cleveland and Cincy are getting it soon, but we aren't on the map yet. Maybe by the time it comes, I will be moving on to the next phone. Its weird marketing 4g when so many cities don't even know when they will get it.

Still this is like the app argument. "Better" coverage only matters if you are in an area with one and not the other. In my area, they both have superb coverage so there is no advantage. In an area with one or the other it is an easier choice. Just like iPhone has 5x the apps of Android or whatever but if they both have the apps you want then the comparison of who has the *most* is little more than a pissing match.
