Does the HTC EVO use the same usb cord we've been using on the Touch Pro 2's or is the usb cable different in any way??? I wanted to know b/c I have this official HTC charging dock that I bought a while back that I've been using for my Touch Pro 2

I hope its the reg usb we've been using so I can buy the correct dock insert clip an continue using it for my htc evo!

The EVO is and will be released on June 4th and I can't see why it would be pushed back since just 3 days ago Dan Hesse himself announced it!!
Those reps dont know shit about shit sometimes... I know more then them and even most of the store reps that work in the stores lol... and I'm not being cocky I'm speaking from experiences!! I'm tech savvy and I know a lot about these devices an what not... the evo will be my 5th smartphone to date!!! Aso for that extra $10 I'm sure we will have to pay for it at least until enough complaints come out and maybe it'll get lowered or what have you, but like most have said....still at $80 and with everything that comes included in the plan...it's a lot cheaper then what other companies are offering!! Plus I'll be getting a 27% discount which will help a huge deal!!

The only thing that would stop the htc evo from being launched on the 4th is a massive part failure.
They would have to like stop the shipments in mid ship. That would be crazy.

I think you got that wrong. No one has LTE yet and it won't be even remotely active til next year. Your source may have meant HSPA+ which is what AT&T announced earlier this week.
There will be only 3 lte enable devices this year. 1 phone, 1 hotspot, 1 pci card. The iphone will not be one of them. As eieio pointed out hspa+ has been opened up. It will allow speeds between 1.3-3mbps speed. There are 10-12 devices that can be used with hspa, the new iphone and 3gs will be 2 of them. If you read the wimax thread, you will see how I feel about hspa. New lte phones should be popping up for the lte network, hopefully, this time next year ( maybe 4 of them). Verizon and ATT will start to roll out lte in late 2011 and phones should be here in 2012. That is if everyone can stop fighting each other long enough to agree on something. But lte is a mess right now, they will get it together by the end of this year.

Just don't count sprint to run for a year on 4 g all alone.
River , my dear is it possible it has the radio as a tech marketing tool? You know " 4 g enabled" even though network not ready? Like all the " HD" ready tv hype.
No chips yet.. Only for testing purposes..
Slim to none there will be one in the Iphone.

It doesnt seem like sprint is doing a real advertisement such as tv commericials for the evo, I have seen all sorts of Iphone, Droid, and Droid Incredible, but no Evo. Do they think they are gonna sell millions of these phones soley on internet ads and word of mouth? Have any of you guys seen any Evo Tv commerials?
I thought about that and figured why advertise heavily now??
You will have early adopters and business consumers purchasing.. Few more weeks and they will have more Wimax areas rolled out.
Get some tech reviews and Iphone comparisons??
I am curious to see how many units get presold by June 4 launch..
Then when do they get the 2.2 upgrade??

Why advertise now? Are you kidding me? How do you think Apple sells so many Iphones? They advertise the hell out of it and make it a house hold name that even 80 year old grandmas know about it. If sprint wants to gain customers they need to be smart about their ad campaign, people need to hear about it in order to even think about buying one. Or else its gonna flop just like the Palm Pre. They cant be satisfied with a whole bunch of upgrades, they need new activations to move foward in a more profitable direction.

woooIn the real world, no. It would be impossible. You would have to turn it on and test it by the fcc. But since the network will not be ready until late 2011, you would install a battery sucking piece of junk radio, that may or may not pass the fcc, only to get the next iphone to get a real lte radio. Even though 3g radios have been good for years, apple refused to released the first one with 3g. They are very cautious about unproven technology. They will not release a lte radio until it is tested and proven. They might do it, but it would be smarter for apple to call it iphone 4g and let the people get confused. Att are going to pimp the iphone 4g as 7.5mbps. They do not need much more then that to sell the phone.
