Quick question concerning warranty, when I buy a phone from Sprint I get a one year manufacturers warranty that Sprint handles. If I buy the phone from Best Buy or Radio Shack do I have to go back to them for that first year's warranty claim and deal with whatever they're process is or can I go to Sprint and get an exchange or replacement?

Did you read it all? I didn't think it was biased at all. Looked like a really good review to me. Didn't say anything that wasn't true (as far as I can tell).
I actually watched the video and read it. In the first part of the video he was totally giving out backhanded compliments.

Towards the end it did get better. I didn't think he said anything that wasn't true, it was just the way he presented it at times. Here is an example of the type of blah "complements" he gave. "Jane, that is a very pretty dress. To bad it makes your hips look a little big, because it is nice and I do like it." At least that is my take on the review. :p

You get a one year warranty from HTC, no matter where you buy it from.

This small staement, is another shot in the arm ego boost for the EVO...
at lease for me anyway!!!

"it's usable in all orientations while wearing polarized sunglasses."

Also check with your credit card. Some CCs double warranties on personal electronics up to 2 years. Those warranties come with the usual hurdles, but they're about the same as all other warranties. I've only ever made a claim against one with Visa, and there was very little red tape or delay in getting a replacement product.

I only thought about going through my CC because the product broke and the OEM and retailer were both saying make the claim against each other. I actually requested Visa to get my money back and that I'd return the product, but the CSR had seen the issue before and just walked me through it.

Not all CCs are the same though, and I've had the same ones for 20+ years now so not sure if that made a difference.

Amex did this for me a few times too, but I haven't carried Amex since the mid '90s so not sure how they are now.

I said on here a few days ago that a sprint rep was going to let me try it out at the store. I went back and he said his boss would fire him he did. Oh well, he tried. I'm okay with it, there are for more people deserving to get a preview than me.

However, I bought my wife the htc hero, and compared to my touch diamond, android is a breath of fresh air. The video quality with youtube sucks, but will hopefully get better when I upgrade to 2.1, which I hoped would have came with it. But for $99, it is a great phone. So if I am impressed with the hero, I can't imagine how well I will like the evo. Two weeks from tomorrow and I will know. A good part of my day will be set aside to play with it.

I hope I can sync well with my mac to load on videos and music. I also hope I can use it hooked up to my car stereo as well.

Jeph just let me say that I am sooooo jealous of you.

How is the typing on the evo, is it smooth and responsive? and can you type one-handed portrait? Just wondering b/c I'm thinking with the screen size I might have to use two hands no matter which way the phone is turned.

So, for those of us that prefer to just order online from Sprint and have our EVO's magically appear via UPS... Anyone know when we will be able to order on the Sprint website?
