I have been complaining about this. I think Sprint should have started advertising right after the announcement of the Evo! If not then at least after the O/I. In 30 min. it will be 9 days until release! COME ON SPRINT PULL YOUR HEADS OUT OF YOUR BUTTS! i have said it a billion times! Use the same advertising tricks as Verizon and Apple, i.e. Advertise on every TV station,magazine, and radio station every 5 freaking minutes! If we have learned one thing from Apple and Verizon it is YOU HAVE TO BRAINWASH PEOPLE!!!!

I agree, it seems like Sprint hasn't learned and refuses to learn from the likes of Apple and Verizon or even ATT for that matter. There is a reason why these companies pay millions of dollars for these prime time tv commercials. Hmmm could it be BECAUSE THEY FREAKING WORK? Am I crazy or just missing something here? It is obvious that Apple and Verizon has gotten crazy return on their investment. There is 10 days till launch and absolutely nothing, nada, zilch, zero. Sensing my frustration? I'm sick and tired of seeing those ATT,Incredible,Ipad/Iphone,Droid, heck I'm even seeing Tmobile and the HD2 commercials. But all sprint can come up with is Dan Hesse talking to the camera. I mean no offense to Dan but he ain't no Tiger Woods, he's not going to attract new customers "BORING". Come on Sprint its do or die step up to the plate.

Don't kill me, but just to play the devil's advocate (and not directing this at you, ARR22...just quoting your post)...what if Sprint knows what they're doing on this one? Almost all of us who have pre-ordered at Best Buy have stories of how many others are ahead of us at that given store...for next to ZERO advertising, that's pretty damn impressive!
As I see it, this is going to be Sprint's flagship device for quite some time. Why focus all of your advertising energy immediately at launch? Look at ARR22's post above...know what all of those devices have in common? They're all available to the public right now! The EVO isn't yet. Hell, the Droid has been out for 6+ months, and the ads are still everywhere for it. Who's to say the EVO won't be plastered everywhere 3-4 weeks from now?
I guess I'm waiting to see what they do after launch. Regardless of how they advertise, I'll have an EVO in my hot little hands in about nine days.

Small warning about bodyguardz. I have a coworker that ordered the htc evo guard from them, may 12. They said it shipped on may 17. Today he called them to find out what happened. They gave him the run around. First told him that they did not know. Then they email him to say it will not be shipped until after june 4 2010. When he called them on that saying that he could get it shipped today, if he ordered it today, they finally said they would ship it today.
Had to waste about 40 minutes of his life for no reason but stupidity. So just a warning. They will give you an automated response about when it will ship, tell you it has shipped, then find excuses for why it did not ship. And in order to get it to ship, you need to pester and bug them. So you know. Can get the emails to prove it.

This is an interesting topic. The EVO's 720p recordings are saved in 3gp format, which is a highly compressed format generally used on phones. I think that's one of the reasons the videos look a little grainy when viewed on the TV, but they're still very respectful in HD. When viewed on the EVO, it's a whole different story. They really look good when played on the 4.3" screen.
The original movie I put on YouTube and posted here was 13:04 minutes and the file size is 575,128 KB. That means a whole hour of 720p recorded video would only be about 2.6 GB. 3gp can be compressed a lot more if it's only going to be used to watch movies on your phone. I have several 2-hour plus moves; one of them is 2:15:40 and is only 459,221 KB. The others are also 3gp and are in the same range size wise. You might think that is crap, but I have to tell you, they look great when played back on the EVO screen.
All this worry about how much space you have on the EVO with only 1GB internal, and 8GB microSD is nothing to worry about. For me personally, I feel 8 GB is sufficient to begin with. If the SD card starts to get a little overloaded, you can always move files you're not using to your computer.
One final note: I'm coming from the Hero and it was so slow by comparison. It would take quite awhile to boot a movie, but it did work. On the EVO it's only a matter of seconds and you're ready to start watching.

I have a TP2 and I don't know if it has the capacitive screen or not but it came with an extra stylus and I gave it to my friend the other night cause he said he may want to use it with the EVO. Will it work? I don't want him messing up his screen or anything and I don't knwo what capacitive screen is or if my TP2 has one sorry.

Except for the last line, that is exactly how I did it. They must have really good employee incentives for getting new subscribers. I have to use mail in rebates, but I'm getting almost an extra $20 off per month for 5 lines, from an already good discount.

Your pro 2 has a resistive screen not capacitive. And no the stylus will not work with the EVO since capacitive screens respond to static electricity in your finger tips. Although I heard that some company is coming out with some sort of magnetic stylus that mimics static electricity that will work with capacitive touch screens.
